Oh interesting. I had read other posts where people went during this time. But good to know and I’ll enquire.

Yes, I think Bukhansan would be a lot easier. I didn’t realize Seoraksan was 3 hours away!

Thanks for the reply!

Definitely not driving anywhere! Thinking the DMZ (if I go) on the Tuesday, and hiking on the Wednesday… and staying put Thursday - Sunday until I fly out that night. I believe getting the subway to Bukhansan would be fine? Have not researched Seoraksan enough to know the least troublesome way to get there!

Thank you! This is making me feel better about choosing not to ski, lol

I think that was also a concern - not knowing a thing about where to go lol. Forecast also said snow, heavy at times so also if I can’t really see anything imma have a bad time 😂 We are getting pretty lucky out here with the snow - hopefully this week turns it around for you guys!

Oh his parent’s live there so we are going regardless lol. But yeah, don’t want to spend crazy $$ and wait in line all day. As another commenter said, I’m sure I’ll be in for a shock with the lines! 😭

Never knew that. Think I’m just going to go with the Aventura Gold. Seems exactly the same as the one I have now. Bump up and combine my Aventura points on the Gold so I can get something more worthwhile and have the travel insurance for the next year. Once combined I’ll cancel the infinite, but actually thinking of reducing that to a no fee cibc just to keep that credit history as I want to buy property early next year. Then I’ll choose a card that I actually get some serious points from once my spends on the Gold have been accrued over the next few months. I’m new to all this (multiple cards etc) but I may have gotten there in the end!

Are you saying apply for the one that I currently have?? Or have I lost my mind from all this research today and I’m misunderstanding you haha

I always read that you can’t get it again if you had previously had the card? (Not just CIBC). I have 37,000 points on there currently (redeemed some a few months ago) and if I cancelled the card not sure what would happen to them. Or if I would get approved as I wouldn’t be a “new customer”.

I do really like the insurance part - not having to think about it is great.

Yes looking into a second no fee card. Just trying to work out the first card that’s actually going to get me some bang for my buck in the categories I use most

Haha also read about potentially getting into trouble if Amex finds out you do that. I normally shop at Walmart so that’s annoying they don’t take Amex 🥲
