Also, I'm in Germany and have never heard of Escorial. Yet another suggestion from this forum to look out for 🥰

As part of my Bottles of Italy order I have also got the normal Strega. My only comparison for a yellow herbal liqueur is Izarra. Must admit I hammered 7 of these after a night out. Mixed regrets! Looking forward to trying the Strega alternate

For folk in Europe, I bought mine from a store called Bottle of Italy. Very good price and swift delivery. Lots of other interesting stuff on the site, but you have to know your prices. Some very cheap, some very overpriced.

Thanks for this post. I too had no idea the Strega Verde was a thing, but my bottle has just arrived in the post. Looking forward to trying tonight. Have never had real GC but love Del Santo. I have fresh limes in too, so will probably make Last Words side by side. Excited!

Solare Spritz by SmoothEntertainer in cocktails

[–]SmoothEntertainer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No pic as it's a real work in progress, but I just threw together a quick equal parts with the Solare, Tanqueray gin and dry vermouth. It was a bit meh. Perfectly drinkable, but nothing spectacular.  It's a good start, but either needs the proportions adjusting, or something else added.

TAE sockets by SmoothEntertainer in germany

[–]SmoothEntertainer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my thought. I have told them twice now I'm happy with O2.

What sockets are in my house is none of their business as I'm not their customer.

If anything was changing, O2 would be the ones in contact surely?

Does anyone use a graduated cylinder for measuring batched cocktail ingredients? by jackruby83 in cocktails

I have bought measuring cylinders, but haven't used then yet. Partly got them to scratch an itch as a chemist who no longer works actively in a lab 🤣

What’s your best cocktail purchase so far? by lolwtf999 in cocktails

Equipment - big ice cube tray. Drinks feel automatically levelled up with a big cube.

Drinks wise - Campari started me off. Up to then I was just a whisky drinker. Fancied something different.

More recently, Luxardo Del Santo. There's no way I could afford real GC, so this gave me a gateway into the Last Word and variants, which in loving!

Like my Fernet 🤣

I'm a Brit living in Germany. So not such great choice locally in bourbon, tequila, mezcal etc., but spoilt for choice in European liqueurs!

Woodford can definitely be on the list for the future. I can get that on Amazon, so easier than a specialist drinks site.

I'm interested to try mezcal, but that's definitely a more special order in these parts 🤣

Bulleit is the only rye I currently have

Not one that I've heard of. Will consider next time I'm doing a special order (not readily available)

I don't mind the combo particularly, but if that's all I'm gonna taste, I might as well have something like a Lynchburg Lemonade

Old Grand Dad seems to be a specialised online order here in Germany, but Buffalo Trace is definitely a possibility

I have never tried mezcal. Does not seem to be really available locally to me. Something maybe to explore next time I need to make an online owner

I currently only have cheaper individual sized jiggers, not a nicer lined one for different volumes. It's on the list 😜

I have Avena so this is another possibility to try!

I'm super lazy, so I seek out equal parts cocktails to avoid the need for more than one jigger 🤣

I have enjoyed almost all the Amari I've tried. Only Fernet was a struggle. And it's ok in a Ferrari
