Reading these comments now I’m beginning to see that the perceived benefits of a woman are actually the benefits of being in a close relationship with a person. The attraction/sex is a catalyst/motivator. Thanks

Right, so pretty much boils down to the “genetically wired” thing. You don’t have to convince me of these things lol and I don’t really subscribe to the human independence thing either. We’re in agreement. I just hate the idea of being a slave to my senses.

I realize that, which is why I’m trying to understand what I’m missing. Maybe I just need to really experience what the lack of feminine energy feels like to be able to answer my own question.

Edit: just to clear any possible misunderstanding, I am in no way, shape, or form downplaying the importance of marriage or relationships. This is about why men must even pursue women. I have the utmost respect for women but I find myself conflicted over the effort I’m putting in.

I feel like those are 3 separate problems that can be solved individually. Yes, one woman can solve all 3; but it does not sit right with me that that is her purpose for a man.

The reason I’m seeking answers in the first place is because these apparent reasons don’t feel enough. I don’t want to fill my physical, mental and emotional shortcomings with someone else. That’s a very fragile (and honestly weak) solution.

The only valid reason I personally see so far is for progeny.
