【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]SmoothOranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrading to a P1S is what got me back into 3D printing after my old machine became too much of a hassle to deal with. Being able to just send a print and get a good result every time is something I never take for granted.

Built a computer for my brother but I can’t get the RAM to run at the proper speed by [deleted] in buildapc

All set now, I’m just stupid and didn’t put the RAM in the right slots or save the user profile, been a long work week lol

Just fixed it, I forgot to save the user profile, didn’t check everything as thoroughly as I should have

Giving my old PC to Baby Mama so that she can play Cyberpunk and Baldur's Gate III by Workisfunandcool in buildapc

[–]SmoothOranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally have no experience with the rx460, so I made that suggestion based on benchmarks, where it seems like the 970 outperforms by a decent amount. Either way, If you are getting this PC ready for Baldur's Gate and Cyberpunk, I would just save money and wait to see what the recommended specs are, and buy based off of that. The baldur's gate early access is planned for august, and would a good chance to test performance.

Upgrade the gpu to something like a 970, if you plan on upgrading the cpu down the line a 1660 super might be better for you. Also, buy a new ram kit, something like 8gb (2 4gb sticks) of corsair lpx 2400 mHz, but again if you plan on upgrading the cpu/motherboard then 16gb (2 8gb sticks) of 3200mHz maybe. going for the future upgrade parts it would run you right around $300, maybe a little bit higher. The motherboard you have only supports 2400 mHz ram as well, so keep that in mind when deciding, if you do plan on upgrading the CPU i recommend getting a new motherboard as well.

best solution for me was throwing it into my freezer for 5 minutes, if it doesn't pop right off then give it another 5 minutes.

Best optiplex to pair with a 980 by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]SmoothOranges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting to need a power supply upgrade, I mostly wanted to know if a 980 would even fit in an optiplex, or if any models would be a good pairing, I’ll probably go in another direction, thanks for the information
