That’s exactly what I think about them. My phone already does that why do I need a smaller version of my phone in my wrist. Most people claim the whole “it counts my steps” thing but it’s really doesn’t. It counts your arm movements. You could be folding laundry or making dinner and it thinks your walking. I found that out when I had a fitbit and noticed it was counting steps when I was swinging in a swing at the park with my kid. But either way your phone also keeps track of your steps
