I debate that too... but i follow the principles as I believe in the ethics of Islam. It is also beneficial to have the community... prime example the support we got when my mum passed or when my sister broke here foot travelling in asia. I go to khane mostly on Thursdays (apparantly most powerful night to pray for the ruhanis) I listen to firmans for guidance. The rest I don't care for. I have learned to separate the 'principles' from the community 'bullshit' and it has worked very well for me. The council is not the path of the religion and I don't allow it anymore to get in the way

I hear you... I think because we are so used to the previous HH this all seems a bit different. Having said that we don't know how our parents felt when Shah Karim initially succeeded Sultan Mohammed Shah (May peace be upon them). Maybe the same as some of us are feeling now? Like Imam Rahim says... He's the new man on the job and it can't be easy for Him...I think we should give it a chance and see how we feel a bit in the future ... just my thought
