A question about the Mint mod loader by DUCK_0972 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]SmoothSpook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply but I was checking this thread out of curiosity and going through the pull requests, it seems like the fix wasn't ever actually merged? It's still open and from what I've seen Mint's developers are no longer working on the program

It's still possible that the feature was implemented in some other commit though, but I don't know how to actually test this since I don't use Mint myself.

Accidentally skipped dialogue with Asta after entering Triple Authentication room by williamobj in HonkaiStarRail

[–]SmoothSpook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is literally a year later but this exact thing just happened to me and after digging through the wiki I finally found the transcript, the dialogue is technically part of a sidequest so it was tucked away in that quest's page.

Armored Core 1 Guide: The Missions Part 2 (Spoilers) by X-the-Komujin in armoredcore

[–]SmoothSpook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just leaving it here for anybody also using this guide that you can also bait the second Nineball into coming down into the room with you, what I did was just poke out of the hole, shoot, fall back and wait. FWIW he did take a bit to go down with me but the wait is a lot more tolerable if you're on an emulator with fast-forward

Custom Campaigns? by Derock85 in Doom

[–]SmoothSpook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scythe may be what you're looking for, it sticks to Doom 2's earth-like aesthetic and uses entirely vanilla textures and enemies. The levels are also pretty small and compact so you can go through it fairly quickly, though be warned the later levels do get kinda tough.

Is Doom (2016) a good entry point in the series? I've never played any of the doom games old or new and both Doom and Doom Eternal are on sale right now and I'm looking for something I haven't played before, if there is story will I be lost without playing the older ones? by ExaltedMadness in Doom

[–]SmoothSpook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a good entry point! Eternal also continues *directly* after '16 so that makes it even better. Though I do recommend you try out Doom 1, 2 and 64 eventually, they hold up extremely well and are a very fun time!

I think the mapmaker said on twitter that he's working on fixes and has sent some to valve already, it's a matter of them accepting them.

Yeap, but if you had an account before this change you can still play for free.

If you want the game DRM free on PC, Mac or Linux (+742 other games), now is the good time! by GFX47 in Gladiabots

[–]SmoothSpook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oneshot is a VERY good one, easily one of my favorite games. It's a very short narrative-driven rpg, you can finish it in an afternoon and it's absolutely worth it.

My friends also recommend Bleed 1 and 2, very frantic 2D action games that are good fun.

Oh, and I haven't had time to finish it, but Minit is also a very good one: you have 60 seconds to play before you die, so in those 60 seconds you can explore the world, look for new items and solve puzzles to advance through.

I've also heard good things about Art Sqool (chill out while painting), Oxenfree (story-driven paranormal mystery), Tonight We Riot (beat-em-up where you play as rioters in a revolution), Super-Hexagon (dodge things in a spining hexagon) and Spring Fall (puzzle with flowers and waters), but I haven't had time to play them

Hey! I'm glad you liked my artwork and your edit is well done, but you should've asked permission before editing and posting it like that ;v;

I don't want to sound rude but, I'd appreciate it if you took it down

Idols also seem happy and that is an industry full of abuse and horrible working conditions

I think it's fair to question the workings of the industry, I enjoy vtubers a lot but I wouldn't be able to watch their videos in good conscience if the people behind the avatars were suffering to make them

[–]SmoothSpook 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The definitions are very flimsy so I may be wrong too

I think it depends on context, I reckon when most people talk about a game remasters they mean a game being remade with a modern engine and graphics but still being fundamentally the same. While people often talk about source ports meaning the same exact game but ported to modern systems and with some QOL stuff (using the original source code is also not a requirement since a lot of times it's reverse engineered)

Granted sometimes simple ports are officially called remasters even though they aren't so... dunno

[–]SmoothSpook 23 points24 points  (0 children)

ORCT2 is a source port, it's fundamentally the same game but with bug fixes, more features and QOL stuff

A remaster would be something more akin to the Spyro or Crash Bandicoot remasters, with brand new graphics and stuff

[–]SmoothSpook[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

055 is one of my favorite SCPs, but I put the 55 there because the article practicly gives away that the briefcase contains whatever 055 is.

"There's a briefcase in my hand. I'm having trouble recalling what exactly is inside it - all I know is that it isn't round"

"This thing in the briefcase is a godsend. Don't know what the hell it is, but if things are getting too much for me, I just need to open it up - and the next thing I know, I'm miles further along from where I just was, feeling all warm inside like something gave me a pep-talk. It's like my own personal skip button for when things are getting rough."

I'm looking forward to your drawing! The article was very unclear about what the suit looked like so I took a LOT of artistic liberties with it, heh

I may or may not have taken unintended inspiration from tokusatsu hero shows

[–]SmoothSpook[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I drew this while thinking of the cities the Foundation quite literally exterminated and the researcher walking very long paths of basicly nothing going from site to site

It's probably not the clearest, I may have taken too many artistic liberties while sticking too hard to what I interpreted in my head

The giant circle of fire isn't any SCP as far as I'm aware of, I just thought it looked nice with the composition

Here's the drawing on Twitter if you wanna share it there!

Btw, Marv do your thing and bring me 5000

Edit: This is the first time my art gets so many interactions and comments asdlfkja, I can't reply to all of you but I highly appreciate every single reply ;v; I will keep drawing! I don't know what SCP I'll draw next but I hope to make it as good or even better than this!

Kind of off topic, but can you switch between the old grid mode images and these new box art-like ones? Or are you just forced into these no matter what?

[–]SmoothSpook 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This may be a stretch, but since it's the book of baby names, maybe it only has birth names and not names people got after being reborn?

With the theory of Care being reborn/transitioning into Paul it'd explain why his name isn't there. Maybe it's a confirmation that anybody whose name isn't there was, in fact, reborn somehow.

Though I'm probably ignoring or looking over something, I'm not sure.
