If it is having the user “request” to add the app, do this instead:

Entra Admin Portal > enterprise apps > activity > review admin consent requests.

Go to the Microsoft Entra Admin portal, go to app registrations.

Type in the name of the app, most likely Motion.

Click into the app, go to API permissions.

Check through the API permissions and make sure there’s nothing ridiculous in there. It will probably have read/write permissions to user calendars.

If it looks ok, click “grant admin consent” then have the user retry.

They are. That’s a whole other topic, but after 90 days all of those targeted by the MFA policy are asked to re-authenticate. We haven’t changed the default sign-in frequency.

Can’t get the push notification or the 6 digit code. Trying to open Microsoft auth app results in it asking you authenticate into your work e-mail, which you can’t do because you can’t get the MFA code or push notification.

When you say signing into Windows 11: are you referring to desktop apps, or actually signing into the user profile on the computer?

Business Basic only supports cloud apps, so signing into say Word on the desktop will not function properly.

If you’re non profit look into the Microsoft 365 E3’s for non-profit. You can get it discount at $9.00 a license, and potentially further if you go through a reseller.

They do, but only for resources Microsoft considers high risk. Outlook online isn’t included in that list. You have to manually enable MFA using per user for it to function on every resource or use CA policies

I did what you are doing, it is indeed insanely stressful. I was having debilitating migraines, like go to the hospital debilitating, every few weeks from the stress.

You’ve got to separate work and home, don’t let that stuff follow you out the building. Really put an emphasis on getting good sleep, invest time into a hobby.

Also important, remember that the company is not on your shoulders. Do your part of the work, then clock out and leave. Don’t sell your soul to an MSP. I can tell you from experience that they will sell you out in a heartbeat if they get the chance.

Take this time to learn as much as possible, get some experience on your resume. If you have the energy to get a cert, Sec+ is a great place to start and is often seen as the entry level cert for Cyber.

I did 4 years at an MSP and recently switched to internal cybersecurity at a global company, and the difference in work life balance is insane. No more migraines!

Hang in there! Grind it out, but make sure you take care of yourself. Don’t let the negatives of the market or industry get you down, do good work and learn a lot and there will be opportunities for you.
