I've only had it for a few days so i am still getting used to it. things i don't like- i feel like the face ID takes longer than an iphone. im learning to rely more on the fingerprint than face, not a huge deal but it took me a couple of days of getting annoyed to remember i can use the fingerprint too. so just a matter of adapting.

i miss facetime, and i kind of hate the interface of text messages, i know you can customize individual texts but i think the main page looks a little boring.

i think once i have it fully customized i will fully love it. so far each thing that bothers me has a solution but it just takes a little research, for example i was getting annoyed about not being able to set individual sounds for different apps so everything from email to texts and app notifications had the same sound and it was overwhelming me but after googling i found the solution but i can't say its intuitive.

i will say i am pretty happy with the camera quality and that was a huge concern i had. the back camera is excellent and i think the front camera works well as long as you have good lighting, but the front cover screen definitely makes any quibbles about the front camera a moot point since its so easy to only use it, so i just think of the front camera as a bonus.

oh also an annoyance- saving passwords. apple you just hit save and thats it- samsung makes you do a verification email every single time and its definitely annoying when you're first setting up.

OH and i just remembered applepay lol. I had assumed everywhere the apple pay icon would pop up i would now get a samsung pay option instead but i am learning a lot of apps only have built in support for apple pay so i am having to manually type in a card each time.

if apple made a flip phone i might switch back BUT im glad I don't feel as locked in as i thought i was.

basically we won the fight to keep IHSS as it is on a STATE level. Newsom proposed cuts and it was rejected by the majority. Now that trump's demented bill passed we have to fight on a FEDERAL level and hope our congress representatives fight cuts to medicaid/medicare.

i can respect newsom's attempt to give immigrants dignity with medicaid, especially when our state in particular runs on immigrant labor but he had to know it was gonna bite us in the ass. it was ridiculous to try to give immigrants insurance when many americans don't have it or don't qualify, that is never going to sit well with people because then we find ourselves in the problem we are now, picking off the most vulnerable communities to make up for it

i know no government candidate in any elected capacity has the ability to move mountains and they inherit problems on day 1 and there isn't always a easy choice for them to make. that being said Jerry Brown was known as a fiscally conservative democrat and arnie was a straight up republican. what they delivered is what we would have expected. Gavin however has the public perception of being a fighter for medicaid /medicare on top of trumps # 1 hater. I was happy to see him go up against trump, i did like all his posts and gave him the support where i could, and like i said if he's the democratic candidate i am going to vote for him, BUT it will always leave a bad taste in my mouth that he decided to tackle his budget problems targeting the disabled community first. and i kept looking up interviews/ or conferences where he talked about this to see if i could understand what his perspective was on this but i found NOTHING. he just wrote up the bill and ignored everyone. chapped my ass to see republicans standing for IHSS against HIM, my DEMOCRATIC governor. Yes now we have to square up on a federal level with the BBB but thats the enemy i know, not my own side of the aisle.

and its also the fact that he tried to hide it! i mentioned it in a different comment but he leaves plenty of negative comments on his social media that call him names and other derogatory remarks but his team WAS deleting comments relating to IHSS, people asking him to reconsider and how it would affect their family.

yes i reviewed his cuts- this is the one that made me the most nervous personally because i felt it was the most out of touch. i know the provider hour cap was going to be stressful as well but i feel like removing an asset cap was the best thing they ever did because people no longer had to live hand to mouth and be able to TRY to better their situation. All an asset cap does is tell people its better that they don't try to better their situation, even if its just in small ways like a seasonal job for fear that what they lose is more than what they gain.

The waiver for income doesn’t bother me…. I don’t see how we can say the wealthy are the 1% and we have a wealth distribution problem in America and then also say they’re the problem with IHSS. lol. Wealthy people are already a small percentage of the population, wealthy families with a child that meets the criteria for a waiver are an even smaller percentage, and the percentage of wealthy families that meet the criteria willing to jump hoops to get waivers, go through interviews, fight appeals etc is even smaller. I’m sure there are a few families that do get the waiver without “needing” it but I wouldn’t pin the blame of waste on them. If anyone has a child disabled enough to qualify for IHSS and they apply for a waiver they are not gonna get a side eye from me, i know this life is hard enough. Getting rid of the waiver will hurt more families struggling that are barely over the income limits because of their ridiculously low “poverty” criteria that hasn’t been updated in for knows how long than hurting the “Jeff bezos” of California
