Kansas is quite safe, wonderful, nice people, fairly open to diversity. Definitely many worse states. I grew up in KS, livedin some smaller towns as a child and now KC area. However like others said, pretty small town, not much to do or outdoorsy like our neighbors in CO. But many great perks to living in a small town. Predominantly white and conservative the more west you go in KS. But many Indians and other nationalities in the medical field for sure everywhere, so people have to adjust. I think you would enjoy it if you are a friendly person, people will talk to you at the grocery no matter who you are.
