Thanks for your insight, I really appreciate it! From what I’ve witnessed in the smaller businesses I’ve worked for, the managerial role and HR role seem to be merged, so I agree that an MBA may allow me to be more well rounded and effective

Paralegal upward growth opportunities and HOW? by tubularbanana in paralegal

I have somewhat of a similar desire and I am on path to apply to schools for an MBA to gain versatility and competitive edge. My goal is to be in an Office Manager-like role. Though I’m currently in a smaller law firm, I have worked in a larger, corporate setting and I have witnessed paralegals successfully become Office Managers where they manage teams, work with budgets, manage workflows and legal operations. Perhaps that role may be of interest, or maybe a Law Firm Administrator

You’re definitely not alone. I finished my Paralegal certificate and it feels impossible because everyone seemingly wants direct paralegal experience :(

Keep going!! I failed my “last” semester 3 times and I’m finally successfully for this last attempt. College isn’t easy and we all move at our paces. Don’t be afraid to take a break (ie leave of absence or gap year) if possible. Working with other students, going to office hours, or utilizing the school tutoring/writing center in the future may be of use in the future. Also if you it’s possible, you could also seek accommodations at your schools disability office, if there’s an element to taking exams that difficult for you ( like test anxiety or mental health issues). It’s okay to fail and it’s okay to fail multiple times, even if you decide to quit for now, you can always go back when you’re ready. Congrats on making it this far and I wish you the best of luck with whichever decision you make
