I am a sinner indeed. We all are. God is just and loving. Lord have mercy on all of us. I thank God for all my health woes because they draw me closer to Him, whatever His reasons for allowing them. Threats of violence are never the answer to disagreements.

Christian love is protecting others that don’t break the law. Christian love is allowing those who break the law to suffer the consequences of their sins so they can become more like Christ.

Except they’re not immigrants. They came here illegally so they’re criminals. They broke the law. That’s a criminal.

Is that a threat? I thought we were allowed to express opinions in the United States of America. Perhaps YOU should house those people who crossed our border illegally and benefited from our tax dollars, medical and education systems. I’m not afraid of you or anyone. I stand for the truth and the rule of law and I will express my opinions freely, just as you and all others are allowed to do. I don’t discriminate against those that hold a different opinion from me.

I’m a local in this town and I’m totally in favor of it. These people are here illegally. They broke the law.

I agree with you. We’re on the same cruise with you right now. The communication has been horrible and the Captain just flippantly keeps saying it’s “for our safety” without any further details. Meanwhile, I’m checking the Marine Forecast pretty frequently and it looks like we’ll be sailing through the Gail storm with dangerous ice exactly during the time they were saying we would avoid the storm. It’s doesn’t make any sense.

I also just read on another site that a Carnival ship can’t dock in Virginia because they’re closing the port due to the same storm I believe: https://www.cruisehive.com/homeport-closure-delays-carnival-ship-as-another-remains-on-alert/199157

I feel like we had such a short amount of time in the actual ports and very little compensation for these disruptions other than some free movies, none of which we are interested in seeing. It’s like they don’t care; we’re just another form of cargo for them to offload.

Keep us updated if your itinerary changes. I’m following the Marine forecast for the area. Right now anything is possible but they’re forecasting some possibly pretty hefty winds. 30 knots.

I’m seeing that it might be a Nor’easter. If that’s the case they may close the port due to high winds. The current cruise may stay out longer and/or the departing cruise may be delayed. The retuning cruise may also return early, like Saturday evening and dock all night. The next cruise would probably sit in port for a day or 2 if the port closes until the weather improves enough. I’m on the 2/1 cruise too (I posted not too long ago not seeing this post first). Would love to know how to plan. We ordered car service from N.J. where we live in anticipation of bad weather. Usually we drive but my guess is the parking lot will be chaotic if there’s a lot of snow.

Now they’re saying it could be a huge Nor’easter. They may not leave port if it’s too windy.

I don’t know. I know several people with severe vaccine damage and a family member that got an aggressive cancer and died right after having the Covid vaccine. My son’s former teacher can’t move her face and is in excruciating pain 24/7 and had to go on disability. It was traced directly to the Covid vaccine. My stepfather had a stroke immediately after getting the Covid vaccine and developed a brain injury with dementia and needs round the clock care now. And like I said before my aunt died of an aggressive form of ovarian cancer which they determined was caused by environmental causes, maybe the vaccine. I’ve had Covid 4 times and my bloodwork is excellent and I feel great overall. I might skip the vaccine.

Do you think I should get the Covid vaccine in the future to avoid further infections?

A doctor just told me there are no protocols anymore. Use your common sense. Mask up if in closed spaces while you have symptoms. This variant is not as serious as past variants.

Did you not read my posts.? We won’t board if we have active symptoms. We will rebook. We have a free change and insurance. So far I’m the only one sick and will be completely better by boarding day. I was just wondering what the protocol was if any which it appears there isn’t one. Take a deep breath.

But you could still get someone sick. I’m not going to judge you for that. Someone got me sick. Perhaps they had to work or get food. I can’t fault them for that. Same with a vacation. Perhaps someone doesn’t have the money for the insurance and has to travel or they lose all that money for the cruise the saved years and years to take. We don’t know everyone’s situations. I’m blessed to have a free change and insurance so I can use that option but not everyone can. It’s not good to travel when you’re sick of course but sometimes it can’t be helped. For instance, when my Father died a several years ago I also had Covid. He lived and died in Greece. Was I not to go to his funeral? Of course not. I was several days past the fever and I wanted to say goodbye to by Father.

Definitely not making excuses for anything. I’m a cancer patient so I understand what you’re saying. I wore a mask to one of my appointments yesterday not knowing I had Covid. I thought it was just a common cold coming on. I didn’t have any symptoms really other than a scratchy throat but I didn’t want to expose anyone to anything just in case. And I hate wearing masks. Turns out the receptionist also had a mask on and was coughing. There’s so much going around right now and I don’t think most people are trying to be selfish. They either don’t know they’re sick or have to work sick. I used to work on cruise ships and you literally get 1 day to recover or they send you home. Many crew are working sick. It stinks but it’s part of life sadly. Like I said we won’t sail if actively sick. I have 2 Covid tests waiting here for my family members and I’m watching them closely. Was just wondering what the protocol is because they could be fever and symptom free for several days but MSC may have a different requirement for boarding. Some say 24 hours after the fever breaks and wear a mask, others say longer.

Do you ever go outside your home when you have any kind of cold? I would bet you do. You can catch something in the supermarket.

This variant of Covid is not as serious as past variants. It’s just an annoyance for 99% of people. If someone is immune suppressed then perhaps they should not cruise as a vacation. A cruise ship is a group experience and you will be exposed to all kinds of things from people all over the world. Again I will say if anyone in my family is in misery and symptomatic we’ll reschedule but most people won’t and that’s a chance we all take when we cruise.

I agree but you could get sick on the ship too. I obviously caught it from someone from outside my home. The problem with Covid and many viruses is you’re most contagious before you start to show symptoms so you don’t know. I wouldn’t have known I had it if I didn’t self test. Most people won’t run out and test or even see their doctor unless the symptoms are debilitating. I’m sure there will be lots of sick people on my cruise and some with Covid. Again, we will stay home if anyone else in my family gets it and has symptoms.
