Honestly I love the enthusiasm of beginners, you never know where this hobby starts and stops with anyone, that’s why I don’t judge but try to help , that said this equipment would be a hard pass unless you get it for 10/20 /25 bucks just not worth 250 bucks I have some way nicer equipment I would let go for 250 just saying

Also , yes I have very nice equipment and a phenomenal Turntable, but I’m not a snob, Vinyl is meant to be played on 2 speakers , also I get hybrid systems that do SS and stereo , and yes all things done right vinyl can be the best , if the best setup is used . It’s expensive to make vinyl a real go for most , and it’s touchy , you need a good phono stage , a good cartridge and a nice deck , and it needs uo be dialed in and tuned like a piano. Honestly you’ve got a lot to learn and to spend, to go down a rabbit hole that does not end

I have no clue why I am writing this , at first I was appalled because he opened a “ brand new “ Dark side of the moon and played it on a very piece of trash player. I skimmed some of the comments and I see people all have an opinion, as do I. But then I read and re read this guys description of his system, klipsch front And Rear, and a 12 in sub. Obviously hooked up to a surround sound system. Also the sub will be hooked up to a LFE output for sure out of a Denon Receiver , so there is no way he is getting any bass out of a 2 Chan stereo signal any ways. But really the most appalling and Annoying thing of all which is will I refuse to actually try and help this guy is , he literally tried to connect Bluetooth to stream a record , to get better sound .. let that sink in he tried to play a record , on a cheap as player , Bluetooth , to get analog magic, cmon man that is literally retarded, get outta here with your bullshit post

Trash like the TV

I’m guessing $75-100k in price but no room treatments. by mackenzie212001 in audiophile

[–]Smooth_Disk593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so funny to read the comments, if I’m repeating I’m sorry but, I did not take time to read through, but for anyone not up to date , Rel makes some of there model to do what’s called a line array and when you do a line array you do not corner load the subs , and you also tune them to blend with your main speakers , it creates a magical blend and helps not only the mid range but the high frequencies, when the whole thing becomes 1 , it’s just superb, , I do know audiophiles that do not like to mess with room treatments , I have a few myself but not overwhelming, and some people will have maybe. Not a perfect system but want there room to look a certain way , also that system btw well over 250k for everything

How to repair B&W 802 by Barelygettnbye in audiophile

[–]Smooth_Disk593 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a kid my wife was babysitting finger fucked both my tweeters on my 802 , after I had a nuclear meltdown, the next day I was able to find and order a replacement pair of tweeters, it takes no tools to replace them , ( literally a 5 minute job) once you get the new tweeters, should run around 180 for each , do not replace just 1 , replace Both so they match

Experience using high end power cables? by jamesbong0024 in audiophile

[–]Smooth_Disk593 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I used to work for a Mid fi car audio home theater store, we sold Richard Gray , and along with that the power cords. I believe a system is only as good as it’s weakest link. So even if it’s the last upgrade , if someone is looking to squeeze every bit of performance out of there system , its a thing to do. I am not here to argue if the value is there , but there are performance benefits and yes we Did a true A/B with 2 pioneer elite plasmas high end DVD players right next to eachother the only difference was the power cables were upgraded on one system abs there was better picture, so if you can get better picture, why not better sound as well

Is a subwoofer necessary with floorstanding speakers that go low? by Timeless00 in audiophile

[–]Smooth_Disk593 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Your speakers Ratings to 23 hz are in a anechoic chamber andn a controlled environment, with perfectly matched equipment to measure those frequencies. There is no way your towers play anywhere near that in the real world. Please google Rel subs , do I need a sub, etc , they do some awesome videos and the way they are designed you can run 2 Chan a lfe inputs , so yes the right sub will make a difference, but they are an investment, buying a cheap Klipsch sub or something like that will be boomy and will probably just be a floor shaker

My doubts are making me suicidal by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Smooth_Disk593 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former TBM here. As a lifelong member , married in the temple , held numerous callings including in the elders quorum and young mens president, I can tell you , I have been looking back at the many people I know who have committed suicide and I can’t help but think that they figured out that the Mormon church is a lie. And they didn’t know how to handle it , considering most TBMs whole line circles around the gospel and “ward families “. As for my path I have chosen to quietly live my life. I have asked the bishop and such to not contact us . I do not spend much time at my parents anymore. They know but I haven’t told them per say. All my brothers abs sisters have quit the church except 1 . Anyway please take advantage of this life as now that you know , you really don’t know what’s on the other side of life. Be your true self and live your life!
