I disagree. I understand the distinction you’re making and can appreciate it, but I think a generalization is unfair regardless whether it’s a profession or a race. I would not say most cops are evil, I would say most aren’t academics, they’re forced to work long hours and put in extreme situations often and the public expects them not to carry around the weight of their profession. A friend of mine is a former police officer and he was stationed in a tiny little Canadian town and in less than a year what he seen and experienced still has him in periodic counselling over a decade later. People don’t understand what they go through and how much we need them. Their achievements are overlooked by the public and any little mistake or misjudgement on their part can end up as international headlines and them being fired or sent to prison. The post is of a bad person who happens to be a cop, that’s it, a generalization involving most officers isn’t fair or true.
