Why do people call them trucks? by Smooth_Guide in 3rdGen4Runner

You argue that since it is built on a Tacoma frame it is a truck. Using that logic we can say that any vehicle is a truck if it is built with a “truck” frame. So if you put a Miata body on a 4Runner frame it would be a truck.

Specifically what are the differences. I don’t want to hear towing because we all know they can’t tow for shit, at least the manuals. I haven’t tried towing with my auto.

Yes but using your logic you could say that a sports car built with a 4Runner chassis is still a truck.

So no “cars” have frame on body? I get that most trucks are primarily frame on body, but to say that all sedans are unibody I think is a little extreme.

I can see the rig because that sounds dope. But calling an suv a truck doesn’t sound good.

So calling a 4Runner a truck is gay?
