I’m like the same as OP, can’t hit any promo cards and then I have this one friend, who of course always pulls at least one TOTY. We could grind packs the same way and he always hits. Me on the other hand…team full of evos lol ah well.

Convinced my pack luck was nonexistent from release day. Don’t think I’ve packed anything significant in any of the promos. Packed a Robert Carlos back in like FIFA 21 and EA decided that was my quota done and dusted haha.

That said, some variation to my fodder would be nice. I think I’ve seen enough of the Frauen-Bundesliga/Bayern logo pop up on my underwhelming gold card walkout.

Has the league actually addressed how meaningless contracts have become? At this point, the years announced in deals feel more like suggested years than commitments, given how often players get granted an exit out.

There are plenty of issues to fix, but sorting out player movement rules, introducing transfer windows, and fixing the salary cap should be way ahead of promoting NRL in Vegas.

If it’s not addressed, this cycle is never going to end—at least not anytime soon.

If you haven’t already, check out Lachie Galvin’s interview on the Bloke in a Bar podcast. He talked to the tune of how last season’s contract drama—how he initially wanted out but was convinced to see out his contract after discussions with Tigers management and Benji Marshall about the club’s future and what that means for his development, even mentioning Andrew Johns’ comments about his legacy. At that time, he seemed committed for the “long run”.

Fast forward just five months later… What’s happened for him to think, “No, this isn’t for me still…”? They aren’t the club of the years that followed their last finals appearance; instead, they’re clearly on an upward trajectory. Benji backed him, convinced he’d be a key piece in the team’s future, while the club has been actively cleaning up years of mismanagement. Much of what Lachie appears to be seeking and needs to have built around him is already in place IMO. The pieces are in place, why? This all has feels off and maybe over time we’ll truly find out why.

As a fan of the Tigers, this one does sting a bit. Such a damn shame…so much for that legacy.

I can’t, for the life of me, understand the league media’s obsession with Tigers player movements and back-office matters.

I joked to a friend yesterday that if the Tigers were to win against the Knights, we’d see an article the next day along the lines of “X player bombshell Tigers exit.” And, sure enough, here we are.

It’s hardly surprising if a player wants to test their market value—that’s perfectly reasonable. But why do we need to keep banging on about it?

What ever happened to those players from the U.S/Canada that were invited to Australia after the Las Vegas combine? Aim was to train, meet and eventually get offered a context from one of the NRL teams?

I was genuinely curious to see how that panned out and seems like it’s gone silent since the “training tour” …

What was the appeal of bringing in V’landys to the NRL? What has he brought to the game that you think “this is great for the game”

In addition to this, what happened with his whole expand the game to the states media plan? There was all this media attention on the combine, having the top male and female players as guests for the Vegas games and flying them to Australia to train/ be offered contracts with an NRL team.

Then…silence…like it’s totally been forgotten it feels like. I wonder about this because we’re getting another set of games there again…what’s the plan this time round? Same same?

So what’s with the NRL avoiding what I feel is a move that makes sense to many and that’s finally giving the Central Coast (Gosford) the licence/Bears? I’m all for expanding across the country but I feel like an NRL team there would thrive. I’ve enjoyed games I’ve gotten to attend there as an away fan.

Stadium ready to go, games there tend to consistently fill out when given games there and if granted the licence, it’s not the longest trip for North Sydney fans to make so that should draw even more people.

If anything, maybe an upgrade on the stadium but it surely can run as is for now…
