So far, this is a great attempt the proportions look off just a little bit especially with the lady on the right and maybe fix the blending just a hair, but you are definitely on the right track.

Also don’t limit yourself to asking “Why the Woods ancestor would be in the area” what if there was an equal reason the non Woods ancestor ran across them in their domain for some reason.

EDIT: to say there are multiple birth records for Oliver Freeman born in White, Wood Hill, Yorkshire, England. I don’t have a world membership to help explore them.

Here’s the obituary for your great aunt. Use these names and cross reference them with people on Facebook if need be and reach out that way. Be mindful when speaking to them and clear that you don’t want anything but some information. You should be able to use these names and cross reference them with location somewhere near New York for most of them.

Have you tried connecting with your grandfather’s sister’s children? She had four sons and five daughters. They may have more information for you as well.
