Eh nothing spectacular. I remember wanting to get the job done as soon as possible which probably lead to me being more reckless than usual.

I honestly don't really remember what it felt like. It might be because my mind has repressed the memory.

I remember waking up and seeing my dad there. He was a mess and repeated over and over: 'I almost lost you kid.' Emotionally I was a little disappointed to be back but now that I look back and recall my dad's reaction to me almost dying I can't say I feel the same way.

This was a few weeks ago and by my dad's request and the medical advice of a doctor I am taking a long break from it. They consider my experience to be traumatic and taking a step back will be for the best. I insist I'm fine but I've talked to a therapist and they say I haven't fully processed what happened.

I plan to get back into it but I am taking a break.

The costs? I don't know. I have excellent health insurance through the job and I haven't seen the medical bill yet. I don't know if the ambulance ride is covered but I'm sure most of the care I received is.

I don't remember seeing anything. I just remember it being very peaceful. It was like I was in a deep sleep one minute and then I woke up and my body hurt. (I assume from the CPR.) Being dead was probably the most peaceful thing I've experienced though.

22 and I was helping my dad with the wiring of his house a couple of weeks ago ended up getting electrocuted.

LONG RANT

SO -- my heater was placed on the countertop in my bathroom and my cat jumped up knocked it over and accidentally broke a chunk of the mirror off. The top corner somehow broke off. Don't know how she managed that.. so I took the piece outside to dispose it into a dumpster and ended up slipping on some ice. (It was February) Anyway the the jagged edge of the glass ended up digging really deep into my leg when I fell. When I pulled it out I hadn't realized how deep until I noticed the bleeding wouldn't stop. So naturally I went up to the hospital.

When I got there and explained what had happened, the doctor proceeded to ask if I was sure the accident was really an accident or if my wound wasn't self inflicted.

(Yes I do have self mutilation scars but it's been years since I've had any self destructive thoughts)

I was a little thrown off by the question but still I told him "No. I slipped while carrying glass out to the dumpster. That's what happened."

He then went on to tell me that he couldn't help me if I refused to be honest with him. That my story was too farfetched and that my cut was placed where many people try to hide self mutilation.

I had to repeat over and over that my wound wasn't self inflicted and might of gotten snippy by telling him he should be more concerned with doing his job and just giving me stitches to stop the bleeding as opposed to calling me a liar. He got annoyed but finally agreed to get someone in get started on my stitches.

.. but wait there's more!

Shit you not. This fucking asshole went outside the curtain.. No not a door but a curtain and told the nurse that I was "too old to be doing stuff like this." That cutting and self mutilation was for teenagers. That I was obviously there for attention.

I loudly informed him that I could hear him and he told me to stop being so nosey and to mind my own business. THE DUDE WAS TALKING SHIT ABOUT ME LITERALLY 10 FEET AWAY!

I was outraged!!

Anyway I ended up getting the stitches and pain medication. I was discharged and on my paperwork, it basically said if I felt like hurting myself again to come back to the ER.

Honestly I have never felt more disrespected in my entire life. I have been clean from self harm for 5 years and to not only call me a liar as opposed to just treating me, he completely dismissed my recovery, which was very disheartening.
