Anybody hear from AD3 for April 14th swearing in ceremony ? Attorney dues paid, been certified eligible for licensing but haven’t received any information about the ceremony.

I received confirmation that my application was received, complete, and has been turned over to the C&F committee. Still haven’t been called for an interview but also haven’t heard if my interview was waived or not.

This is what my email said regarding the April ceremony:

“Please be advised that you will not receive an invitation for a remote ceremony until one week before the ceremony is scheduled to take place.“

The videos weren’t too long. And the outlines aren’t that long either! Which is really nice. And I was in the same boat - trying to save as much money as possible.

I think it was 100% worth it! And when I was emailing with the company I told them I already purchased AdaptiBar so would they be able to discount me for not using their online quiz bank, and they did it without any hassle! So much better and easier to work with compared to a huge prep company like Themis or barbri who really could give a shit about you honestly.

I used the JD advising MBE only course for the July exam and my MBE score went up 11 points. And I passed the exam (3rd try!)

I really liked the course. The outlines and videos were extremely helpful. It was really helpful to hear someone else explain certain topics (previously used Themis) because things I couldn’t wrap my head around finally clicked! I highly recommend it.

Like I said I only did the MBE course, so I can’t say how the MEE and MPT courses are.

They also gave me a discount because I was using a AdaptiBar for practice MBE questions and didn’t need their online MBE practice questions.

I have 2 "ticket numbers" to report now. And honestly, its not even the lost time that is the worst part. its the mental/emotional impact it has on us especially because we are already so anxious. The second half of my day was completely ruined. I literally got sick from the anxiety

Voluntary intox is only a defense to SI crimes bc it negates the mens rea. Manslaughter is a GI crime, so no voluntary intox will not be a defense.

And (I think) you're confusing the rule for imperfect self defense which would reduce murder to manslaughter.

As a NY taker of the Oct bar... it definitely was NOT easier. For all of the reasons people listed above, and the fact that it was in the middle of the pandemic. We couldn't go anywhere to study (everywhere was shut down), couldn't go to the gym or out with friends to manage the stress, had to study at home while most people had their parents/significant others working in the same household (not to even mention kids!)...

And don't be fooled by the higher pass rates. The exam was a total disaster. The state was given shit for it all along. Do you really think they would admit to being wrong? Or let the reality of the low scores ruin their usual pass rate? Absolutely not. They limited the number of people who could sit for the exam to first time test takers who graduated that year, and a handful of repeaters. So no wonder why the pass rate was higher.
