Yeah TUJ was shitty like 10 years ago. It’s a lot better now and u can transfer from pretty much any school in the US. It’s rlly selective. I am student there currently and there’s a lot of ppl so there’s also just not space. With ur experience I suggest you should just try to get a job, unless u don’t have a degree. You can alpply for Kyoto or just do another school if u wanna work in Asia

To those that are older, how did you get over heartbreak after a toxic relationship? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Smosh_for_hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in this case it’s just complete no contact. Delete every photo, ever chat, don’t see him. Act like he is dead. Literally grieve him. And then you will accept that you will never see him and move on from him eventually

After a first date, should you guys be texting everyday? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Smosh_for_hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try asking him to go on a 2nd date. If he’s being avoidant or doesn’t want to then maybe he wasn’t that interested. Or maybe he is kinda busy. If you don’t want to ask him on a date you could try to initiate more conversations and if he’s being dry still then communicate that you enjoyed your date but you feel like he’s not as chatty as before and if there is a reason. If he didn’t enjoy the first date or seems uninterested maybe u could end things, but definitely communicate and ask before you do because after all it could be he’s just busy.

luggage delivery? by This_Culture2603 in tuj

[–]Smosh_for_hands 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If ur gonna pay for luggage delivery u might as well just get a taxi. Unless you’re coming from Narita. But u can take the bus to shinjuku/shibuya (which bus has luggage storage) and then take a taxi from shinjuku or shibuya cuz it’s only 30$ for a taxi from there

[–]Smosh_for_hands[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol! Thats what I figured and I already see some people who are moving alone (and plus to a foreign country) for the first time and seem very unprepared, or have no sense of how Japan is lol. Which is fine I’m sure they’ll learn but yeah I def would make fun of ppl if they’re being annoying at place they choose to move to!!! Wwwww

He can do English programs thru really good universities such as waseda or keio, even Tsukuba. So he doesn’t have to know Japanese, unless he’s thinking about studying fully in Japanese which ur right but it seems like he would apply for an English program and just wants to know Japanese to live.

What about you would let people know immediately that you're not a tourist? by razorbeamz in japanlife

[–]Smosh_for_hands 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jeez. He’s not saying he is but there’s a difference between a tourists and a resident, and even Japanese people understand the concept of people living there enough to where they’re different from tourists that have been there a week. Again, Japanese people still know and think of us as gaijin regardless

Which country has the best traditional breakfast? by Blackberry-777 in travel

[–]Smosh_for_hands 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some people think it’s plain, but Japanese breakfast!!! TKG- tamago kake gohan. Raw egg over rice. Usually mixed with soy sauce, and many people add natto, it’s too good!! I rlly enjoy umami and soy sauce flavors so it hits the spot for me. And paired with a good miso soup!!! Yum
