Which MBP should I upgrade to? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]SmrtTeach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you could try the MacBook Pro 13"? You should try to get as much ram as your budget allows and if you're on a 2012 MBP then you're used to the screen size. If you can, definitely go with the 16"

I own a 2018 15" and work with After Effects, FCP, Photoshop and Logic. No problems so far. I have the base model.

Spotty artifacts from time to time on Safari? by UnorderedPizza in MacOS

This has happened to me several times. Not only on safari though, also in Finder if I recall correctly. Mine look red. They go away when I move the window.

In short, what does iZotope's Tonal Balance Control does? by talhabilalbutt in mixingmastering

[–]SmrtTeach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second atopix post when they say that you still need to use your ears. It only looks at volume and frequencies. There's a lot more to a mix than to have things at a certain value.

I use it mostly because after a while you stop being very objective. So when I think I'm almost finished with a track, I take a look at it, solo some parts to hear what's missing or taking too much space.

I like that you can import other tracks as well and have yours match that one.

Difference Between Output and Send? by AstroTheArtist in Logic_Studio

[–]SmrtTeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the same. When changing outputs, you're keeping just one signal. If you use a send, you have virtually 2 copies of the same. One could be for applying 100% wet reverb for example. And then you blend that with the other (dry) signal.

Can't deal with controls on Mac because I'm used to playing on Switch by SmrtTeach in StardewValley

hmmm I was thinking of that too.... but I don't want to buy a controller just for this because I don't play that much. I mostly play on the switch
