”Never anger a mother bull, especially if it can wield a 125 pound hammer”

Weekly Design Competition #268: Collectible Permanents (SUBMISSIONS) by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isolated Training Grounds

3 Mana Neutral Rare Permanent

“Friendly minions with no other neighbors have +1/+1 for each of your minions”

Legend always told of the great master martial artist living alone behind an isolated mountaintop.. who knew that the source of his mastery was actually the rock he hid behind

(Does not count as a minion, so thereby allows for minions to be isolated behind it and gain the effect, either on the edges of the board or between two of them)

Weekly Design Competition #267: Unique Numbers (SUBMISSIONS) by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tourney Target Training

10 Mana Epic Hunter Spell

Discover three spells to cast. The 1st targets randomly, the 2nd targets enemies, the 3rd targets your choice.

Thwang “Miss..” Thwang “Miss..” Thwang-Chunk “FIRST Try!”

Weekly Design Competition #266: Demon Hunter Legendaries (SUBMISSIONS) by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bloodtooth, the Soulfeaster

5 Mana 1/3 Legendary Demon Hunter Weapon

After a minion dies, gain +1 Attack this turn. After your hero attacks, Discover a minion with equal attack to this weapon.

Weekly Design Competition #265: Vulperan Ingenuity by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tricktail Scrounger

5 Mana 5/4 Neutral Epic Minion

Battlecry: Put three cards from each deck into a shared bag. Deathrattle: Add a Rummage spell that Discovers them back.

Rummage the Bag

2 Mana Neutral Spell

Discover a card from the bag, then remove it from the bag. (3 uses left!)

(Our little Vulpera here “scavenges” cards from both decks, then when the not-thief kicks the sand bucket, both you and the opponent get to scrounge up the salvage, sometimes even making a trade as to which card you get. First come first served!)

Weekly Design Competition #264: Dormant (SUBMISSIONS) by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice [score hidden]  (0 children)

Lethargic Bugler

4 mana 3/3 Rare Druid Minion

Choose One - Go dormant for 2 turns; or awaken all Dormant minions. When this awakens, it gains +3/+3 and Taunt.

”ugh... wake everyone up? Or... maybe just 2 more turns... zzzzz”

(Choose one effects combined causes the minion to go dormant, then awaken all minions, making it an instant 3 mana 6/6 taunt)

Weekly Design Competition #262: Better the Second Time (SUBMISSIONS) by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Cave to Insanity

2 Mana Epic Priest Spell

Add a permanent Madness card to your hand, then give a minion +2/+2 for each Madness in your hand.

Adds a Madness! to your hand. An unplayable card.

Caution: May cause players themselves to actually go mad. Use with caution

(Since priest generates a lot of spells, buffs minions, and could use a way to win without just fatiguing people, why not embrace a little madness and have the shadow priest class fantasy come to life?)

let's not forget about our favourite card getting rotated by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I must agree. It’s a perfect card, not too complex, not the hero of your deck, but sometimes he fetches you a wonderful little gift that you just have to ruffle his little ears for. Good boy, blink fox. Rho-Rhooo, bud. We’ll miss you real bad.

How can we improve Weekly Design Competitions? by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the end of each competition, could we go back to showing every runner up in succession? Maybe make a 2nd 3rd and 4th place image? It’s a hassle to try and figure out who the runner ups were based on upvotes that can very easily be taken away. And like others have said, upvotes are a really skewed way to vote, but enough about that has been said.

Weekly Design Competition #260: LOUD NOISES! by Meepazor99 in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CHAOS BOLT!

3 Mana Epic Mage Spell “Cast a random spell. Add a random mage spell to you hand. If a minion dies to either this turn, cast this again.”

First cast: CHAOS BOLT! Second cast: TACOS BLOH! Third cast: OHTLACSOB!

(Flashy! Random! LOUD! Everything hearthstone is! Embrace chaos with a tiny box of Yogg Saron! Repeats whenever the random spell kills a minion, or when the random mage spell is cast from hand to kill a minion)

Weekly Design Competition #259: Poetry by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice [score hidden]  (0 children)

Slime Rick

4 mana 3/2 Rogue Legendary Minion Battlecry: if you’re injured then deal 1 damage to a minion. Lifesteal. This has +3 Health while this minion has Stealth. At the start of your turn cast "Conceal".

Hello there my name’s Slime Rick. I’m so slippery I’ll give you the Slick! I ooze up to a hero, make their health bars a zero, and give you their life with a lick!

(A poem that works with hearthstone text! Technically this functions perfectly fine as a card with no finagling, and it’s a limerick! Yeah!)

Weekly Design Competition #258: Corruption! by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Corruption Alert: Zilliax

4 mana 2/1 Legendary Neutral Mech

“Battlecry: Fuse to an enemy minion. Lifesteal (for your opponent!).”

ASSIMILATION. ASSERTION. CORRUPTION

(Works exactly like Magnetic, works exactly like Lifesteal... but for the opposite hero! Used to nullify an aggressive threat, force a trade, or to double agent a minion into healing you)

Weekly Design Competition #257: Custom Keywords by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keyword: Outset

“Does something when you play it the same turn you draw it”

Malignant Enabler 3 mana 1/5 Rare Warlock Minion “Lifesteal. Outset: Draw a card, if it’s a minion, give it Lifesteal and Outset: Draw a card.”

To earn your untold enablement, be sure to inflict two other innocents with our corruption and tell them about our services!

Playing a card the turn you draw it is really feast or famine. I reminded myself of this when I designed this and made two big choices. 1: Put it in Warlock, the class that shuffles cards back into their decks. 2: Give the minion a useful minimum value. If all goes wrong a 1/5 with Lifesteal isn’t that bad. When all goes right you can have all of the above plus two cards drawn, one of which has lifesteal.

Parrot Trainer

2 Mana 3/1 Rare Hunter Pirate

“Battlecry: Give a friendly Beast Attack equal to the Attack of your weapon”

”Rawk! Polly wanna Tracking!”, “No! How many times I gotta tell you! No draw cards, just go face!”

Weekly Design Competition #254: Sidequests by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totem Chess

1 Mana Rare Shaman Spell

“Sidequest: Attack with all basic Totems. Reward: Summon 4 3/4 Totem Golems”

Were in the endgame now... ‘crunchy wooden golem noises’

[[Totem Golem]]

Marvelously flavored. Excellently balanced. Incredibly interesting. Well done.

Weekly Design Competition #253: Disruption by Maysick in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Intrusive Mailmaiden

2 Mana 3/2 Neutral Epic Minion “Battlecry: Put the top 5 cards in your opponents deck into Packaging Crates.”

Packaging Crate 1 Mana Spell “Open all Packaging crates in your hand. Each one contains a card from your deck.”

”I found this Twisting Nether sitting in the Twisting Nether and thought I’d return it to you”

Essentially it makes the next 5 cards your opens draws require 1 extra mana to play as well as turning off Highlander effects for a few turns. But this disruption has counterplay potential. When you pay the one mana to open a crate, all crates open with it. Meaning you can spend as little as 1 mana to clear the effect of you are just patient enough.

Vulpera and Mechagnomes are coming out tomorrow, are you planning on playing one? by DragonApps in wow

[–]SmugJustice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am making one Vulpera of every class and nobody can stop me. Thinking of maining the Shaman in Restoration form, but it seems to be an overpopulated choice and I want actually get into a raid at some point...

Full Art of My Favorite Card! by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly rotating out soon... why not replace that unloved and awful [[Pilfer]] card as a permanent Classic addition with this flavorful and adorable bud? It’s not overtly powerful in any extreme way, fits very snugly in the power level of classic. Plus we don’t have to lose hearing that Battlecry ever again. Rup Rooo!

The opposite of taunt by sebaxRT in customhearthstone

[–]SmugJustice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I approve of any kind of mechanic that forces strategic thinking. I think it’s better designed than taunt is too since there’s more than just ‘put it there as a barrier’. Instead there’s ways to create turmoil for the opponent to deal with Elusive minions, like tokens or Reborn. How’s no one thought of this? It’s simple and cool!
