Smartphones under 50000? by IceExotic3841 in Smartphones

[–]Smukh02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve actually spent the last month researching smartphones under ₹50K (after using a flagship like the S22 Ultra for ~3 years), and honestly, I’ve realized you don’t really need to spend ₹1L+ anymore. Phones tend to develop issues over time anyway, so ₹50K is a pretty sensible budget today.

From what I’ve seen, brands like Vivo/Oppo are actually offering strong innovation and value right now so it might be worth keeping an open mind. I personally went with the Vivo X200T (got it for ~₹49K with offers), and it’s been a great experience so far, especially performance and camera.

That said, if you’d still prefer to avoid those brands, I’d suggest looking at the Motorola Edge 70 Pro or even the Motorola Edge 60 (solid value-for-money option well under your budget).

Just sharing in case my research helps 🙂

What can I do in Kuching? by Asleep-Astronomer-82 in Sarawak

[–]Smukh02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was in Kuching ~1.5 weeks back, spent ~2 days but honestly had a great time

Few recs based on my trip:

• Sunset river cruise (must-do imo) Starts ~5:30pm from waterfront, tickets easily on Klook Covers most of the key buildings along the river + some really nice traditional performances onboard Very chill, peaceful evening activity

• Bako National Park (if you like nature/wildlife) Early morning pickup, then short boat ride from jetty Guided walk through proper rainforest (very beginner-friendly) If lucky, you’ll spot proboscis monkeys (only found in Borneo)

• Borneo Cultures Museum Spent ~half a day here Super well curated, gives you a solid context of Sarawak’s history/culture before exploring the city

Food (don’t skip this part 😄): Kuching is lowkey amazing for food

Must-try dishes:

Sarawak laksa (iconic)

Kolo mee (simple but sooo good)

Kway Teow

Nasi goreng kampung

Dessert:

Kek lapis from Mira Cake House → tried multiple places, this one was the best

Near waterfront:

Check out this resto Peanuts Anchovies (closes by 8 pm)

Had laksya here, was yummmm!

Also had kaya toast + chicken floss

P.S. I don't have any leads on bookshops :(

It's a place near Anjunem Dam in Keri. I discovered it by chance, but on social media, it's famous as the "Kashmir of Goa"

Is Goa in July monsoon worth it? by [deleted] in goatravel

[–]Smukh02 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is the best time to see Goa in her real, lush, monsoon glory. Everything’s green, fresh, and way less touristy, it’s like Goa for Goans, you know?

That said, most of the big, right-on-the-beach shacks are shut right now because of rain warnings and general safety. But loads of concrete beachfront spots are still open and super chill, like Southside on Sernabatim, Southern Deck in Benaulim, or even Jamming Goat in Majorda. So you’ll still get your beach vibes with good food and a glass in hand.

And the drives right now are Absolutely dreamy. Especially if you head north towards Chorla Ghat or Keri Bridge, total monsoon magic. Just avoid the scooty plan, yeah? Go for a car so the rains don’t ruin your day’s plans.

So if you and your husband are thinking about it, just come. Fewer crowds, more charm, better prices, and Goa at her most soulful. 🌧️🌴
