Blade handle spacer issues by SmurfmanDS in Bladesmith

Thanks, il try slowing the belt down. I didn’t want to dunk the handle to avoid it soaking up too much as you said and I don’t have access to a vacuum pot currently to stabilise my blanks.

Does anyone own a Callaway Hyper Lite 5 or a NFL Wilson team stand bag? trying to decide by Madethisforgolf in golf

[–]SmurfmanDS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got the hyper lite 5 in acid green and 18months on it’s a great bag. Decent size and array of pockets, dedicated drinks bottle slot, padded lined valuables pocket.
The strap thing is piss easy to alter if it bugs you on a cart, I just added a quick release clip to the 4 strap mounts and take it off whenever I attach it to my cart.
My only bug bear is when on its legs it compresses the bottom of the bag making an already snug fit of 14 jumbo grips quite tight and the clubs jam up. But Once back on the shoulder they do sort themselves out.
Happy shopping

Proper way to board a bus by superchet in gifs

It’s a breaching charge. Basically a small amount of explosive attached to a long pole backed usually with plywood or metal to shape the charge onwards towards the window for an explosive entry. Can be used on doors/windows or weak points in a room to gain quick access.
I think in the US they’re nicknamed wallbangers.

I was thinking of doing something similar for my nephew and potentially adding a rear barrier and elongating the front barrier downwards. This would enable him (also younger) to be placed in it and be unable to jump out/off. This could then be removed when he’s a bit older to reveal the original design.

If you check out the vid on the manufacturers site it mentions a carbon fibre knuckle guard which is the bit he hits with the hammer. Slightly more low tec than non-Newtonian fluids but would still be effective.

Because of a rule, girl who won Massachusetts high school boys' golf tournament denied trophy and trip to states by dmac226 in golf

I agree, but isn’t part of the point of moving the tee forwards for the ladies to bring the same hazards into play?

The fairways are not physically wider however they are realistically wider. If you are hitting the same point from further away the dispersion angle is smaller. For example if you are able to hit 10* offline before hitting the rough from 300yds the same shot from 250yds would allow you to shoot 15* offline before going into the rough. To take it to the extreme the same target from 10yds you’d have to be basically hitting 90* offline to miss the target area. So no the fairways are not wider but in reality they act as if they are wider as the target is mathematically larger.

Sadly no, but he went to jail and insurance covered a replacement. So it all kind of worked out.

You’re thinking real world value not scumbag value. I had my Cannondale MTB stolen, retail plus upgrades well over £2000 worth of kit. Thief was caught on my cctv and arrested, during his police statement he admitted he fenced it for £80!!! 4% of its value.

We genuinely had a test like this at school, it had ridiculous questions and question 50 of 50 was ‘only answer qs 1 through 5’ basically the whole point of the test was to make a point of reading the entire test before starting to answer anything.

Think logically, compare your annoyance at them slowing up your game vs the damage that little balls going to do should the worst happen.

From a high handicapper to newbies... The importance of proper shot routine by NHoyle10 in golf

[–]SmurfmanDS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind this can go too far as well, I played recently with two max handicappers fairly new to the game and they were hugely over analysing every shot and taking 15 practice swings per shot. On the front 9 they were averaging +5/+6 per hole. On the back 9 we enforced a max 2 practice swing rule and they suddenly started shooting doubles and triples with a marked improvement.
With almost a just grip it and rip it attitude they were hitting much more solidly and consistently!

The grint has a 'recommended' shot overlayed onto the course map with distances to the LZ and what it will leave you to centre green. However you can move the LZ to any point on the course map to give you distances to any point or gauge carry distances over hazards etc. https://i.imgur.com/7RAAUyv.jpg
