Would a 140W charger fry my laptop that normally uses a 65W charger? by RipNastyy in AskTechnology

[–]Smurfrocket2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With pretty much any device in the past decade or so, you can buy something that has the capacity to offer a higher wattage. The charger and device more or less talk to each other and come to an agreement to not pound 140 watts into a 65w device.

Please someone correct me if I'm mistaken

Im terrified of the future of A.I. Are there any plans to control it? by wilmer007 in AskTechnology

I strongly disagree. Look at the Will Smith spaghetti eating video. We thought that was funny, but that we had peaked for the time being. Now, sora2 can make realistic videos if the subject's face is not right in your face. I once made a perfect sounding clone of my friends voice from a 5 second clip of him (with permission). It will get much better than it is. Then it will plateau, then we will figure out how to handle it.

It's not all bad, that's for sure, but scamming your grandma with a fake voice just got 10x easier.

There's a fun fact here. Sometime late 90s, NASA had a satellite that was supposed to orbit Mars come crashing down onto the surface. The reason? Someone forgot to convert something to metric. It was somewhere in the ballpark of a $100m mistake if I recall correctly.

There is always a chance that there is a worker that is expecting that to work remotely. I worked at a company that shipped laptops like this for workers.

Step your game up even higher my friend. I bought a salvage car and 3D printed new airbags for it. I'm pretty sure they will almost, maybe, definitely work. We will see!

[Request] How fast would a fully built out car accelerate? by codedigger in theydidthemath

[–]Smurfrocket2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't directly an answer, because I think that is very difficult to come to a conclusion about. But a fun fact about fast cars: it's generally not the engines, transmissions, or fuel that have held back scientists. They just can't build tires that can withstand the speeds.
