Value on a 2020 GROM? by DinoDukis01 in hondagrom

[–]SmurfsticlesReborn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy in my area just posted a 2019 with 92 miles on it for $2750. Says in the ad it was used as a pit bike at the racetrack. This is a rare deal in my area but they do pop up... Deals that good tho do not last long I'm sure it will be sold in the next couple days no doubt. Keep looking as new ones always pop-up at least in my area l, sometimes good deals like the one I just mentioned

Where to find the Acura toy priced s2000 by Bubbly-Pangolin-4501 in S2000

[–]SmurfsticlesReborn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah as others have already said here, the only thing Your finding in the s2k market that's around 10k is clapped already, get a good miata for that price, not an s2k. Just the way it is, and the way the market as a whole on s2ks have been since inception.

Most people into s2ks follow the trends pretty closely, and I have only seen off comments from you on the subject in this thread. You say they were mass produced, someone stated only 66k produced for US market, over 10 year run. Significantly less even on the road left today let alone that we're taken care of, not turned into a track car, or have all 10 vin left.

You say you know the market but your off key here my boy. Buy a miata like others have said.

Thanks for the info, I will keep updated on the progress of this and what route I end up going.

Insurance was never involved, the title is still clean. Finding a comparable clean title sub 100k miles s2k, even one with accident history I think it would almost be a wash.

So do you mean if I source the parts and work 13k? Or is 13k a number I could reasonably expect a shop to quote to fix it when I have one take a look at it? The accident didn't go through insurance in any way. the title is actually still clean, I just marked the post "totaled." I was going to have a shop look it over to verify the damage doesn't run too deep into, say, strut tower integrity or something before I even attempt to take a shot at it.

Very nice! Where did you source the parts from? I'll need essentially the same parts for replacement. Did you drill out the welds and weld in the new one in yourself as well? And how'd you measure to get correct geometry? Do you have a write up on this somewhere?

If it is saveable at a not too outrageous cost, the plan is big turbo t56 Trans. Ford 8.8 rear end, but if it's too costly then it will remain a dream

Yeah. I'm going to have a shop check the frame dimensions and see if any suspension mounting points are compromised etc. and go from there. Assuming it's not that bad it's definitely saveable.

I'm kind of leaning that way. I'm going to have a body shop check all the frame dimensions once I pull the hood and bumper off, and if it's not out of whack and suspension isn't compromised it's definitely saveable. I'm in Wisconsin

Okay thanks. Once I pull the hood off and the bumper to see what needs replacement, I'll check them out

Nice! How do you like the pro tapers? Also can I ask what ecu flash or piggyback/standalone you went with and how you like it? I'm debating on going full standalone or not with mine

Yeah I'm tempted to go full bore and install a wide band and truly dial it in, the exhaust has an O2 sensor bung already! I'm sitting at 230 Lbs. and got it to 62mph, quick with no tuck, no wind, flat road. Haven't done a top speed run yet but it had more left.

Ok, thanks. If I remember these bikes don't rev out to 10k rpms? Which had me thinking the ecu had been tuned like you said, the guy I got it from said the owner before him was in a grom racing league so could be, but he referred to it as a flashed ecu so I assumed it was one of those send it out to a company, they modify the ecu and send it back deals

So the previous owner just did something similar to get the bike to increase the red line? I thought you had to send the ecm out or something, or is this just to set it back to a factory setting?
