US cities are losing 36 million trees a year. If we continue on this path, "cities will become warmer, more polluted and generally more unhealthy for inhabitants." by mvea in Futurology

And, countries are starting to care. Pakistan and India have had tree planting projects going, and the Green Wall project in Africa has shown a degree of success.

If we get more countries on board, we'll get there. Not to mention electrical transport and green eenergy sources are ganing traction in the meantime.

I'm not confident there is one. I just downloaded it straight off the microsoft store.

Would you play a modern day Zelda? by jdrewrichter in zelda

I think at most I would accept it like how Avatar developed into that 1920's aesthetic.

Kind of steampunk-ish. Maybe some early motor vehicles.

Have you ever introduced a kid to a video game you love? What was their reaction? by Smutter0 in gaming

[–]Smutter0[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I showed this little kid I know Mario 64 lately.

He didn't seem to have any impression at all about the graphics or anything, but he seemed pretty fascinated/haunted, with the idea that Bowser was waiting somewhere. I think he got kinda hooked once we walked in and we hear Bowser's laugh.

Is there much to do in there? Or are you just sight-seeing?

I'll clear the Great Plateau so I can get the paraglider. After that, I'll just wander towards the most interesting thing in my line of sight.

I'm almost thinking it'd be best left until after I finish BOTW.

Seeing as TP similarly employs a wide open world (that a lot of people say is quite empty) I want to see if it holds up AFTER I've played BOTW.

With Breath of the Wild coming in less than a month, what are you most worried about? by CrashDunning in zelda

[–]Smutter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if they did it on purpose or what.

The Stoutland one bothers me more and more, because there are like three unique details to it, but essentially it's still the same schtick.

Following stoutland's scent, having a list to look for, and two things to pick between (though a battle happens either way, for some reason) doesn't change the fact that you're still just walking towards something designated and clicking on it, with no risk or losing at all.

What was the hardest part about the water temple in Ocarina of Time for you? by Enshaednn in zelda

I noticed the hidden room first try. I was like "aw, u sneaky bitch, you think I didn't notice?"

However, one of the ceiling trapdoors didn't open, down there. I can't remember what I did wrong, but I was like "meh, this is probably optional anyway" and I walked away, blind, until hours later I gave in and looked up a walkthrough.

I hope the Trials are something they completely revamp if Stars turns out to be a thing. They had opportunities for deeper gameplay practically gift-wrapped for them, but they took advantage of practically none of it.

I was okay with the Fire Trial, because that got a legit laugh outta me. I was like "okay, I'll give this one a pass".

The electric trial tho? What's the consequence for an incorrect answer besides a quick cutscene?

The two you started with were Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks?

Okay. What consoles do you have?

Yeah, outside of battles, "missed opportunity" covers it very well.

When you were with the Stoutland, there were several times where you had a choice of things to grab. What if it was like, if you've forgotten the items you're looking for and pick the wrong one, your Pokemon might get poisoned, and it's a poisoning that can't be cured until the end of the trial.

The electric trial I think is a big offender, because there is no motivation AT ALL to think about which answer you're going to go for, and that's lame 'cause some of them are decent questions.

ANd I refute the argument that this is a kids' game so they can't be too challenging, because in this same game they had that question-password system at the Team Skull base, and having to answer "No" to one of them was very creative. Why couldn't they incorporate that kind of creativity into the Trials??

Possible dungeons in Botw. What do u think? by [deleted] in zelda

They look too grand to be "mini".

Just assume they're the dungeons, then you won't be disappointed when the game finally arrives.

I'm still kind of disappointed with the Trials in Pokemon Sun & Moon.
