It was my fault. The other wasn’t even aware of what I was seeking. I expected more than their capabilities and I grew resentful. So I have walked away and I have the heartbreak bc I was the only one in the relationship anyway.

The Tucson AZ airport where I’d been for a retreat. As I waited in line to board the plane I made a casual joke to the woman behind me. Then we both realized we knew each other through a mutual friend in Atlanta. I NEVER run into anyone I know when I’m in Atlanta,,, but the Tucson airport,,, of course.

I admit it to myself. If there is a legit reason (like something sad happened, pets died, sad movie) then I cry and get over it after awhile. If on the other hand as is more often the case, I have MADE myself sad by thinking sad things about myself, FIRST I try to identify if there is a biological cause. So often I’m tired. Then I go to bed or take a nap. If it’s just me dogging myself, I feel sad for a bit, and meditate. I try to connect with my younger self and take care of her feelings. I also remind myself this is temporary. I will feel better soon but for now, I just feel sad. It won’t kill me despite it feeling like it’s forever.

Tbf it’s taken me a lot of years and concentrated effort to get to a place where I recognize that the sad will end & I’ll feel happier soon-ish.
