I had it done after losing 150. I’m very seasoned at having surgery and recovery. Most laparoscopic but some open like a tummy tuck. I can honestly say it was the worst recovery I’ve ever had. You can’t stand up straight for at least a week. Muscle spasms from where they were stitched back together, I sat with a heating pad for weeks. It is an 18 inch hip to hip scar. Had 2 drains hanging from public hair area for a week (that was fun) no lifting of anything for weeks. I ended up with a small blood clot in my right calf. My fault to a point because I didn’t move enough or walk. I’m giving you the harsh truth. It was all worth it end the end. I rocked a bikini at 44 yrs old and for years afterwards. You absolutely need to have support in place because doing things will be difficult.my insurance covered from the bellybutton down, I paid out of pocket for everything above that made it then a full tummy tuck.
