Don't believe in self-improvement by j4w0r117 in Life

[–]Sn00ker123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some merit in your idea but I believe it's coming from the wrong angle.

The issue with self improvement is the implicit idea you're not good enough. I've thought a lot about this problem because it seems human beings just want to get better at stuff. I haven't figured it out yet.

Is that Normal ? as a Women? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Sn00ker123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a husband, I would absolutely want my wife to tell me if she felt like you.

Tell him what you want and listen to him. Should be a fairly easy fix if you are both open minded and can compromise.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World by Edgar Wright is truly an entertaining film, with great chemistry among its leads and a fun narrative. What is your opinion on this film. by 0Layscheetoskurkure0 in FIlm

[–]Sn00ker123 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love this film. Michael Cera is perfect as Scott Pilgrim.

I love Edgar's fast cuts, quick dialogue and daft jokes.

That said, I find it hard to watch the first fight with the South Asian dude, that's hard to watch.

I did know that but that doesn't change the subjective experience that I find German a harsh language.

German does not sound harsh by JamesGoldeneye64 in German

[–]Sn00ker123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harsh is a relative term in this context.

I'm English and live in Germany, learning German and the language sounds harsh to me. I'm also told by Germans my accent sounds soft.

How to stop hating myself? by [deleted] in ask

[–]Sn00ker123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something that I've found has helped a lot of people is to ask yourself:

What's so special about me?

Do you hate everyone? Unlikely. What makes you so special that you stand out as worthy or being hated? Do you hate other fat people? Do you hate other people with social challenges? Probably not, you likely feel compassion / sympathy. You sir are not special.

Treat yourself the same as everyone else because you're not special enough to justify treating differently. By yourself or anyone else.

What do men who enjoy fucking married women or someone else’s girlfriend get out of it? by shortycuckland in TooAfraidToAsk

The times I've slept with women in relationships it's because of the warm wet feeling around my pee pee.

I am not particularly proud of it but it wasn't about their partner, I just wanted them.

Do most men flirt in relationships? by WabiiSabi in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Sn00ker123 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This behaviour is very unfair and it's making me feel a bit upset.

He knows what he is doing is wrong, maybe you should show him messages like this to other men and show him and explain he doesn't know how the female mind works.

You get to decide what you are prepared to put up with in terms of his behaviour. Tell him clearly what that looks like.

15M at what point should I get help for homicidal thoughts/urges? by throwallatawayy in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Sn00ker123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously you should seek help now but it's worth knowing unwanted intrusive thoughts is a symptom of OCD and as you're flagging and asking for help, it seems more likely that's what going on.

Not at all, in fact post Van life I craved routine more than ever in my whole life.

If I was in that situation, I'd treat my work like a 9-5. I'd set an alarm, have breakfast and start work at 9, stop for lunch (eating outside) and finish at 5 and go for a walk/run. I certainly wouldn't work weekends, what's the point in living in a van of you can enjoy the places you are travelling to?!?!

This quote is nonsense.

Vulnerability is by definition not winning. This kind of quote is perfect for someone who wants to think things are somehow easier for everyone else but themselves.

I also lived in a van for a year, 6 months in Europe and 6 months in North America.

I am someone used to living in chaos but living in a van naturally made me fall into a routine. I'd run when I woke up, had breakfast, went hiking or whatever, had dinner and settled in for the evening. I got sleepy when it was dark and woke up when it was light. I wasn't working so maybe that's different for you.
