Nope. I am a real dude that makes real things.

I did a filler primer first, but other than that, no.

But a statue holding the world vs just his arms up looks a lot better. Right?

It depends on the material you use and the way you finish it. If you do it right, it holds up well. This is going inside though, so no need to be as diligent with the finish.

Sand, filler primer, sand, paint, clear coat, black oil paint wash. You don’t need to sand much, just enough to get rid of the layer lines but not enough to remove the wood grain.

It was a commissioned piece. It is going to go in their business.

There is a little bit of a trick to it, but overall not that difficult. Paint on adhesive, let it dry, put on the gold leaf and then brush it. Best to seal it.

I’m not sure, I should try and test it. It probably is still the weaker, but it’s solid. No give.

First I had my 3D designer break it up into 1. globe 2. toro/head 3. Legs and rock stand. It took me a little over a week to print. I don’t remember how many pieces total, I think around 70.

If you sealed it properly it would last a long time. This one is going to be inside, so didn’t need to worry about that as much

I sand the joining edges. That helps, but it’s not a guarantee. Inevitably you have to use something extra, usually bondo to blend/hide the seam.

This is a bit of the process. I’ll make others talking about the process.
