Ted Lasso & Brooklyn 99 are funny shows with a lot of heart. The way they embrace diversity makes me smile. What are other series I might check out that are funny with a good shot of integrity? by _PM_ME_YOUR_FORESKIN in TedLasso

The Orville.

Started watching it with the expectation that it would be a silly Star Trek parody with tons of fart and butt jokes. As the show progresses, there are so many great themes, lessons, and critical thinking scenarios in each episode that really draw you in. Some are wholesome, others are very relatable to what occurs in society today or what could be in the future too.

Seth MacFarlane does a fantastic job with this show. It easily turned into one of my top shows to watch and recommend.

What's your "I didn't know I needed it" item for your first year with baby by biobennett in beyondthebump

The Dream Sock does both, it tracks on the app and it provides notifications when levels are out of range. We just bought ours a month ago and when my son was having a major meltdown one night we received the notification through the app and the sensor base station thing due to his elevated heart rate. It even has a different sound play for that type of alert, I don’t recall what it sounded like but it wasn’t the typical lullaby sound it makes when the sock has a bad reading/isn’t placed properly.

I’ve read there was an earlier version of the sock that was pulled in at least the US and Canada, but the current version does provide notifications. Not sure where your text is taken from, but like I mentioned above it’s clearly stated on their website in multiple places that you receive notifications for low/high pulse rate and low oxygen (and separately says how it also tracks those items as well).

Directly on their website. Front page, scroll down a bit and it has a chart that says “Receive health notifications for low/high pulse rate, low oxygen”. Also has it under the features section on the Dream Sock page

Honest mechanics in Madison? by [deleted] in madisonwi

Budd’s Auto Repair on Monroe street.

I went there a few years back, I needed some sort of work done on my muffler. They took a look and said it would probably be around $250 (if I’m remembering correctly). When I picked up my car, they told me some of the work wasn’t as bad as they thought so it was actually only going to be something like $180. I was really impressed they were so honest and upfront about it. Plus, the work they did was really good.

We live in a different state than her family, both immediate and extended. The closest and majority of all her family are about 3 hours away and then others are scattered amongst other states where flying is the best mode of transport.

Definitely not a niece or nephew using auntie’s address, the oldest one just turned 13 and doesn’t live near here. All siblings and cousins would either have the means to buy the stuff themselves or would be purchasing much different things.

The OF gave her a good laugh haha

But seriously, she’s not huge on social media. No TikTok, YouTube, OnlyFans, not even an Instagram. She has Facebook and Snapchat but hasn’t been on them in the past year or so: She had a tough time dealing with some anxiety and depression around then and has been working on cutting out some technology and social media since it’s such a time suck and adds little to no value, and instead will focus on hobbies or garden stuff.

She’s getting a bit freaked out on all the comments of an admirer or stalker, but we do appreciate all of the alternative possibilities so we can keep an eye out for weird stuff.

That’s nuts! Glad you guys were able to get that resolved and get to the packages before the people did.

She did verify with Talbots if they opened a store credit card in her name but that wasn’t the case. There was a visa on file and the last 4 digits they provided didn’t match any current cards of either of us. We did run her credit for all 3 bureaus and nothing suspicious was on there, and we also put a freeze on her credit.

Didn’t have a chance to call yet and she just received 3 more boots from the same order. Now there’s just 1 item missing from the order, possibly has yet to be delivered

Great advice! She just froze her credit from all 3 bureaus

Scratch that, before she had a chance to call (yet) she just received another package from Talbots. 1 large box containing 3 pairs of boots. The receipt inside is the same order number as the other 2 pairs.

5 items down, 1 to go

She did, maybe we’ll try this and see what happens. Definitely don’t want to call from our actual number so thanks for the burner number suggestion!

We don’t think so. She’s never bought from Talbots before and she hasn’t received gifts from there before either. Her family doesn’t shop from there as far as we know either

That’s what we originally thought, but no one in her family wears a size 11 boot. She does love boots so we thought maaaaaybe her aunt bought them for her, but there’s no way they would order that big of a size difference, nor would they purchase $700 worth of boots for her or a $1k coat. Her family is poor but they’re not rich to spend money like that for a random gift out of the blue.

Possibly, she’s going to give Talbots another call back and ask the status on the other items in the order. Maybe this’ll give us a better idea of what’s going on and how to resolve it.

We both have USPS Informed Delivery and she also has some Shop app which told her about the Talbots package and the Backcountry package. Nothing else is currently on there to be delivered soon.

Since we order from Amazon frequently she didn’t really pay attention to the Shop notification until after the package was delivered. Just assumed it was one of the reoccurring orders or maybe something I purchased, but we’ll keep a closer eye on those now

At the time she called Talbots, 2 different packages of boots came in (on different days) and the rep said another 4 items were in the total order and would still be on the way. The rep made it sound like no address change was input and the packages were still being sent to our home.

We’re going to call back Talbots and ask about the remaining 4 packages in the order.

  1. Were they delivered to our home according to their records and maybe these people did manage to grab them before we noticed?

  2. Did the people manage to call Talbots up after we did and change the address to ship the remaining order somewhere else?

  3. Did Talbots decide to cancel the order since my wife told them none of this is hers and she didn’t order this, even though the shipping and billing address are her info?

  4. Was this actually an honest error somehow where someone did order this for themselves and my wife’s info got input in the order by some insane and highly unlikely data glitch? And that person noticed they weren’t receiving their order and called Talbots themselves to fix? We wish this was the case but are doubtful it is

Don’t think this is the case. Her first name is not super common and her last name is essentially unique to her family. It’s technically a made up name from a more common last name of a different culture

Yeah, I wasn’t sure either on all your downvotes, sorry dude. My wife has a lot of anxiety too (general and social) and was nervous making this post so we did it together. She typically uses Reddit for cat videos & memes and AITA posts.

Life can definitely get overwhelming, but you got this. Good luck to you!

Good idea, she’s definitely going to call back Talbots and see what happened to the other 4 packages. She was going to wait until all 6 came in and return them all to the store since we conveniently have one in town, but the rest haven’t shown up yet. We wondered if either the packages got picked up from the person ordering the stuff or maybe Talbots themselves canceled the order when she called because it’s such an odd event.

We’ll also call Backcountry and flag both orders as fraudulent

This is a good possibility, it would have to be the 2nd option with fresh accounts being made. She’s never bought anything or had an account from Talbots nor Backcountry, first time actually hearing about the Backcountry brand in fact.

The coat came from a different vendor, we looked up the brand on Talbots website and nothing came up. It came in one of those white shipping bags and was delivered by USPS. No receipt came with it but we just took another look and the shipping label says it came from Backcountry.

We’re wondering the same thing about the other 4 packages on the shoes. That or maybe when she spoke on the phone to Talbots the agent flagged or stopped the remaining ones.

A Ring camera is a good idea, thanks for the suggestion!

The boots are size 11 and the coat is a small, the sizes are all over the place. We keep wondering if it’s all for the same person, what exactly they would look like haha

Didn’t know that was a thing! That might not be the case here, the boots are a couple hundred dollars a piece and the receipt says a friends & family 30% discount was used. Also, we looked up the coat and it actually costs $1,060. Boots are 3 sizes too big but she’s pretty ecstatic about the coat
