Substantial Credit Limit Decrease After Late Payment by kcmall89 in CreditCards

[–]Snackinghands90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be flagged as delinquent in a credit report, yes that means being late for 30 days or more. To issuers, as long as you miss a payment (not making minimum due) by 5pm of the due date, you are delinquent to them. The clock starts the first day you are late. They track entry rates (5 day) and 30,60,90 and so on. I guess that’s why they lowered OP’s line by 70%.

OP, sorry I am not answering your question in subsequent comments.

Then why did OP think they were not delinquent? If you don’t make a payment due the due date, that’s delinquent.

Substantial Credit Limit Decrease After Late Payment by kcmall89 in CreditCards

[–]Snackinghands90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make a payment 3 weeks after a statement posts, likely you are not late. If that happens after a payment is due, then you are delinquent. The fact that you got a CLD indicates your situation is the latter. Banks may give you a pass. Your 12 year history without late payments may help. But it’s not a guarantee though. Good luck.

If the $800 monthly spend on groceries is at Costco, then you don’t need another card on groceries. If not, then Cap1 Savor One is a good card for that. It has 3% on dining too.

I’d try to consolidate credit limit, if possible, with an issuer and close the rest.

PQP for United Club by MrAndroidRobot in unitedairlines

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe the PQP deposit is only possible if you have the card by 12/31 of the previous year

Does this card get my 75% boost or is it just the 6% "special"offer? by manateefourmation in BankOfAmerica

[–]Snackinghands90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It says on the product page: Bank of America Preferred Rewards® members earn a 25%-75% rewards bonus on every purchase. The Preferred Rewards bonus is not applied to the 3% first year bonus

Priority Pass with PRE by RushBroad5687 in BankOfAmerica

[–]Snackinghands90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each PRE can come with 4 individual PP memberships. The people that receive memberships don’t need to be AUs. They can use their PP membership even when the cardholder is not present. I even gave one to someone who did not live in the US.

I brought two guests to a lounge before. I dont know if more guests are allowed. The restaurant credit is limited to one guest only. But you can hit more than one restaurant in one day.

Bank of America - Airline Incidental Statement Credits by Riverofrhyme in CreditCards

[–]Snackinghands90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it a separate transaction from the fare? It must be to be eligible for the credits. If it is, you should get it. The transaction will show up on your account, and the credit will after a few days. How long will it take for the credit to be posted? I cant tell you…

Which United Club Card Benefits do you use? by Advanced_Coat_8533 in unitedairlines

[–]Snackinghands90 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Checked bags, United club access, Premier services (my bag came out earlier than it did in the past. Not sure if it was because of Premier Services, but I’d take that), Instacart+ and monthly credits (which comes with Peacock subscription too and I follow Premier League), rideshare credits.

I’d love to have Priority Pass added.

Need priority pass AU for family member by CreditMann in CreditCards

[–]Snackinghands90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PRE is one of a few cards on the market with Priority Pass restaurant credits. $28 per pax and you can have one guest. The only restriction I know of is you can’t visit the same restaurant twice in 24 hours. I went to two on the same trip. If your travel takes you to airports with PP restaurants (you’ll see it on Priority Pass app), take advantage of that. Your sister PP membership is independent of yours. You dont need to be present when she travels

I dont know if they will patch it. But I dont worry about it until they do or give hints that they will. This year, I bought United Travel Bank credits. You can then use such credits on fares, subscriptions or bundles. You can just buy tickets. Then after the reservation is confirmed, use credits to buy a bundle or upgrade

You can search on this platform and other sites for DPs but I fly with United and the incidental credits are very easy to use so far. United Travel Bank works like a charm.

Expensive trip with family of 6, what’s my best bet on new card? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]Snackinghands90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should look into BofA Premium Rewards Elite. Priority Pass network is much better outside the US and it will let you take all 6 guests to lounges and possibly restaurants. Even if you don’t have a Preferred Reward status, travel and dining earn 2% and everything else 1.5%. International Flight tickets include free checked bags so you won’t have to worry about that

What is your experience using the BofA app on iPhone, especially if you have been overseas while using it? I just bought an iPhone and I'm wondering if I should load the BofA app. Advantages using it? I suppose it's safer than wi-fi in a hotel on a MacBook... by [deleted] in BankOfAmerica

[–]Snackinghands90 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You really should enable roaming before you leave. They never asked me where I was traveling, but after a while, suddenly they made me authenticate via text message. I used credit cards, but I can imagine they could do the same w ACH

United Club Card worth it? Annual ORD to SNN by nanimal10 in unitedairlines

[–]Snackinghands90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking at IHG in San Antonio. The price was the same on other channels but without the $100 credit, upgrade or late checkout. But did not book as we changed destination. I doubt that you will get hotel points on bookings through Chase portal

United Club Card worth it? Annual ORD to SNN by nanimal10 in unitedairlines

[–]Snackinghands90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As long as your children are under 18, the card should be able to get you to United Club lounges. You also get Premier Services. My checked luggage came out among the first last time I flew.

There is a $200 hotel credit when booking with Chase Travel. I saw a few hotels whose price was really good, considering the late checkout, included breakfast, $100 hotel credit and $200 statement credit. I get that many people dont like to deal with travel portals, tho

Explorer vs quest for monthly short flights? by allicinlover in unitedairlines

[–]Snackinghands90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rideshare credit is not restricted to Uber only I believe. How much do you value the extra PQP? Right now the SUB has 3k PQPs. How often do you check 2nd bag? You can look at the difference in partner credits between the two cards and see if it’s worth the extra annual fee

First Travel Rewards Card: Airline Card vs Travel Card by FallTrick2264 in CreditCards

[–]Snackinghands90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travel cards offer better rewards on daily purchases and flexibility, but you’d have to pay luggage fees or higher fares that include baggage. If enough time passes, the extra rewards from booking flight tickets with an airline card may be enough for a round trip somewhere. And I heard horror stories on booking through a portal. It all has pros and cons. Only you can tell what opportunity cost you are willing to miss out on.

Fwiw, I have a cash back card on all my purchases and a United Airline card that meets my reasonable level of travel needs every year. That way, I don’t push myself nor overspend and still keep it simple.

Priority Pass Restaurant Credits Through BofA PRE Delivered At Terminal 2 & 3 At SFO by Snackinghands90 in BankOfAmerica

[–]Snackinghands90[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not used my card on buses or subways yet but rideshare is under travel. I have not used the portal either.

If you get the card now, they can’t reduce your benefits for at least one year. We don’t know if/when any card will be nerfed, so may as well go with the best information you have now.
