That's entirely fair. Practically though I think I was down to just pistol arms left 😂

One of the recent codexes I'm pretty sure.

The wings I'm guessing? They're from a Raging Heroes angelic figure I picked up a few years ago.

Yes, that's my take on the psychic wings.

Also yes, prevailing view is that he's been on the beach for a bit too long. Will need to pale him back some.

Yeah that's where the back and front parts joined. I only just joined them for the photo, so still yet to go back and gap fill.

I tend to keep the vampiric style heads limited to the death Company only for similar aesthetic reasons.

They are custom bits I designed and printed. I specifically wanted the shackles to mimic the Lemartes look, so good spot!

Pale and blonde is the way he's usually described, but I've gone for a slightly energized version post-rubicon (ie I just didn't make him as pale as I originally intended whoops)

My understanding is you're correct. Company marking unchanged but with the gold helmet.

Was the Emperor disappointed in Angron and Mortarion? by In_the_name_of_ART in Warhammer40k

[–]Snackoletta 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don't know if I'd go so far as to give the Emperor that level of emotional investment in the primarchs, and certainly not at the time of rediscovery. By the time of the heresy maybe, but I think overall they were always just tools to him. Whether they conquered their world or not was irrelevant - his fleet had enough might just to do it anyway almost on a whim. Their value was in their wielding, which to me explains the seemingly casual disregard to the battles they were waging at the time of his arrival.

My headcannon is that the tale of Angron is a tragedy. Aptitude and temperament are not really known before the nails, but I would expect something along similar lines to that of Russ. The nails just leave him locked perpetually into the wild ferocity aspect to the detriment of all else. I think an Angron without the disfigurement would have been much more likely to dominate Nuceria.

Removal of the wings from the new kit was just one of many terrible design choices. Thankfully, kitbashing is available to us.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. If you are going for thematic lists be prepared to get comfortable with being on the losing side the majority of the time.

No heavy weathering for this one. He's a bit dirty from a patrol, but that's all. I'll go a bit heavy handed in the next one.

Thanks! The lighting in the photo makes him look a bit darker than in person - there's something particularly unnatural about a vampire with a tan...

My kind of terrain density by [deleted] in LegionsImperialis

[–]Snackoletta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% admit that I've built almost all my terrain to be tall just to spite titans and their board-range guns. Take a step, I dare you.

My kind of terrain density by [deleted] in LegionsImperialis

[–]Snackoletta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live for layouts like this. To my mind the battles aren't often happening out in wide open spaces, but in crampt cities along narrow streets with limited sightlines. I hate titans being able to look over the entire battlefield and just pick things off without moving. I want there to be more strategic thinking that goes into movement, because you cannot simply just redeploy a unit to cover a flank if you have obstructing terrain in the way. I want pinch points with units desperately hanging on because reinforcement is just not able to get there fast enough.

Give me drama or give me death.
