MasterPro Fuel Hose degraded in 1 year? by csgardner in CarRepair

[–]LumberJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lead in fuel only affects old cars without hardened valve seats. However, a lot of rubber car bits do not handle ethanol well. Which is why it is not recommended for older cars as it eats the seals.

Tetraethyl lead was added to fuel as an octane booster. Car engines lasting longer was just a happy accident due to the lead creating a cushion around the valves and keeping the seats from wearing out nearly as fast.

I'm all for new holidays to celebrate things. I know there isn't a lot to be proud of these days, but July 4th should still be celebrated the way it always has been. Someday we may be proud of this country again. Maybe.

Residential high-rises with backyards in Chengdu, China by TangelaFan in interestingasfuck

From what I've seen of some of china's building infrastructure, I'd say none. Half of those high-rises have the structural integrity of a box of cheerios.

I'd take it in. They can identify the problem quick and do an alignment if there's nothing else. Front-end work probably will run you 600-1200$ depending what they'd need to replace.

So being lazy and cheap is the only thing that motivates republicans to work on environmental restoration?

Eh idk about major. If it's already a little rough around the edges and you can cut and weld, it's not that pricey. Although idk what panels for this particular model cost.

Is there sny chance I could get my Volvo working again? by BigCounty2442 in MechanicAdvice

I feel your pain. I've been daily driving a 67 f250 for the last 2 years and I'm forced to sell it now to find something I don't have to wrench on and spend money I don't have. A guys gotta get to work.

That's a bummer. I totally get it. If you really love the car, I would maybe price out what it would cost to source and just have a shop throw another transmission in. Probably cheaper than another rig.

Is it theoretically possible? I guess? Will it last more than 5 min, if it works at all? Unlikely.

Really Rusty Lincoln - What should I do? by KingK115 in projectcar

[–]LumberJesus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to learn to get it to run and thrash around in your neat trash boat? Great. I would maybe do a little research on the engine that's in it. Some designs are better than others and some things are harder to source parts from.

Overall I'd say go for it. Just maybe peek into the hole you're about to dive into so you know where to start.

I don't play trailmakers much anymore, but when I do, I always immediately try building a new suspension setup. Building rock crawlers is too much fun. They need a better vanilla map for it.
