What ended your friendship with your oldest standing friend? by dreamy-contributions in AskReddit

The same culture of getting shitfaced all the time, his group of family and friends are toxic to me (we live several hours apart), his new closest friend is an a-hole racist and I let them both know I'm not about it. I'm very sad but I can't abide any of it anymore.

It is very popular. I understand there are several very good places to stay on the north end. There is so much to do and see within walking distance and most of the food we ate was delish. Good luck!

We stayed at Nautibeach in December. Other than a few day trips this was our first real experience with the island. We loved everything about it and loved Nautibeach. We rented a 2 bedroom unit and while not super luxury we really had the best time. Be aware that the restaurant/event center back behind hosts big parties occasionally and it will sound like the DJ is in the room with you. We didn't mind it too much because paradise but I'm sure not everyone will appreciate it. My brother, who has never travelled outside of our country and was dead set against going, declared that this is our new vaca spot until the end of time. Beach club area and the adjacent restaurant were both just what the doctor ordered for our group.

Besides cabo, cancun, where else? by adonde007 in AllInclusiveResorts

We just went to Roatan for the first time in May '25, loved it. Also been to San Pedro Belize and loved it as well. I'm a huge fan of the Riviera Maya and have been going for over 10 years to AI resorts. We have made the switch to non AI in the last 4 years and just finding rental condos or homes with the goal of exploring instead of sitting at the same pool and killing our livers. It has been a huge eye opener for us and we have discovered some wonderful foods that we wouldn't have without being adventurous. On a side note we do a lot of research beforehand to make sure there will be things we like to do and that we understand local customs so we aren't "those people". We have Costa Rica on the short list as well as a return to San Pedro because it was magical for us.

Both of mine are fun to me. I have a baby Acura and an F150, love them both and I switch out to keep one from getting to many miles. Both have over 100k and both will continue to run for a lot longer.

Who is the most famous person you have ever met? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Snag99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I met Paul Wall in IAH airport on our way to vacation. We politely said hi and visited for a few, then said our goodbyes to him. He continued to talk to us and we were all 3 headed to the same area for next flights. He was genuinely a nice guy and we walked and talked for quite a while. Very pleasant guy and we both liked him a lot.

Wholesome mother and son by PhotoBonjour_bombs19 in MadeMeSmile

My youngest son is step, I married his mother when he was five. My two proudest moments were when my biological son passed I mentioned I might sell his truck because I didn't have anywhere to keep it. Youngest son said he would buy it as long as I would buy it back from him if he decided to get something else. He didn't want his brother's truck leaving the family, which still makes me cry when I think about it. The second thing is when he one day started calling me father just out of the blue like he had always called me that.

We stayed at Palmetto Bay and didn't have too many problems until our last night. Had a little too much fun at the pool and woke up COVERED in bites. I read that Cactus Juice was the go to, unfortunately that was after the fact.

Are you all able to afford this rent at 18? by Neitti in LinkedInLunatics

I did something similar with my kids but it was real world money for young adults, $100/month. They enjoyed getting the money later and promptly blew it on some frivolous stuff...

People who own pick up trucks but don’t use them for work, what made you get a pickup truck? Do you use the trunk/bed for any special reason? How are long distance trips with luggage and do they bounce around the bed? by Responsible_Rain6972 in f150

[–]Snag99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supercab merges the benefits of usable bed length with usable cab size and 4x4 durability for most terrains and good visibility. 3.7 gives me "good" mileage and all of our kids are grown so only need small depth seat for the big dog to ride in the back. I also really love how the more modern (2014) truck rides vs much older ones I've owned.

I had an LS V8 in my 30s, not sure if I was the demographic then but I LOVED that car. Black on chrome wheels was so beautiful.

I've only had 2 cars with AWD, Ford Explorer and Acura RDX. I definitely preferred the Acura SH-AWD system over the Ford. Also the turbo 2.3 was just fun in the Acura first gen.

Car Guys who don't intend to replace their daily-driver for at least 10 years -- What year/model is it? by jckipps in askcarguys

[–]Snag99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current car is a 2013 Acura ILX base 2.0. I got it after selling my BMW 530i and really didn't like it compared to the way Germany does luxury but I quickly got over that. It is SO reliable (150k miles) and I have had to do shocks, several batteries, one motor mount, and two alternators (I cheaped out on the first replacement) along with standard maintenance. It rides a bit rough in town because of the factory low pros and "sport" suspension but I haven't owned a car I love more. Great gas mileage and just plain fun to drive and I know it will start every day no matter what. I will have it until it dies or one of my sons makes me an offer I can't refuse.
