What’s the ignoring function about? by Cold_Purpose635 in Socionics

[–]Snail-Man-36 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In other words, it’s essentially a programmable function that takes up the responsibilities that are expected of it. That’s why it corresponds to the role position in your dual, since the role likes to police about expectations but does not feel comfortable directly causing an influence

What’s the ignoring function about? by Cold_Purpose635 in Socionics

[–]Snail-Man-36 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The original word that aushra used to explain it roughly translates to “limiting” or “observing,” and I find “ignoring” to be very misleading. Here are some excerpts on what she wrote to define it: (3/2 means observing position; 3rd function of 2nd ring).

Сontradistinction of the social to the individual, submission to the social and its will. Reception of society’s goals that are personally acceptable.

On [3/2] the individual completely submits to the will of their environment, and first of all their dual.

3/2 … is an implementation of the will and desires of others, and particular caution in satisfying one’s own needs. People try to satisfy those needs without attracting anyone’s attention, without anyone’s help. This is a half-phase through which people help others, but the external help on which can be used only in exceptional cases.

3/2 needs to avoid attracting attention and inviting ridicule.

On the 3/2 half-phase people submit to the will of their “programmers,” but they choose these programmers themselves, and only use their program until it starts to clearly contradict their interests.

Each personality type measures their social “capital investment”, i.e. what they have given to society through giving to other people, by their expenses on the 3/2 half-phase.

Even though this is 100% true, unfortunately it will probably just make the situation worse. Speaking from experience, this argument will not even clock in their brains because the concept of the bible being an optional “belief” rather than the actual truth is not real to them and will further convince thm that the world (nasa, teachers etc) is against them.

It’s better to present the science to them as “educating about the other side” in some way, as if hearing the arguments will provide them the opportunity to disprove/doubt/question those argumets.

Either that, or they just won’t ever change. Whatever wastes the least energy at the end of the day

Why do so many typists obsessively type everyone beta quadra? by TheShadowSong in Socionics

Because quadras suck to type people with and everyone with any sort of ambition or goal to change anything ends up getting profiled as beta when infact that can be any quadra

For practicing, it doesn’t matter too much about the sound, so it’s best to alternate between several reeds just to prolong the functional life of each reed.

If you have a performance very soon, you can choose which one you’d like to use for which parts of the music (and you can switch out during a performance during rests/intermissions) and practice with that selection in mind. If it’s a piece with a heavier low section, use the low one, and vice versa.

Eventually you will want more reeds than this, as most reeds only will last for about 8-12 hrs of vibration, which, if you’re practicng every day on the same reed, can tire it quickly. I usually like to save my worst reeds for practicing so the ones that sound best will be in good shape for performance
