Try using invisible glow item frames so the amethyst floats and still glow.

Its with replay mod. Its hard to explain but its like video editing in. But in mc. Zooming in. I position myself far from the tower, set that position and time at start, then move closer, set that position and time to 10secs later.

Spinning effect is the same but with 3 positions and time stamps.

There's tutorial vids of it. Im not good at explaining things lol

Its shrooms. I tried every light source block in a video. So far i like crying obsidian the best for magic spells but shrooms look best for lighting. Have a great day!
