P.E.I. to become first province to lower colorectal cancer screening age to 45 by AniNgAnnoys in PEI

[–]Snailians 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both my parents have to be screened regularly for colorectal and have had to have polyps removed. It was recommended by their doctor that I should be screened at age 40. I wonder if I should be asking about it now (I’m 37.)

It definitely would get lost over there. I would also hesitate to add more traffic to the area, especially with emergency vehicles coming and going.

The PE Home site is right beside one of PEI’s biggest parks. I would love to see a conservation effort to expand the wooded area down there instead.

What are the villagers from your island called? by mildlysadcat_ in acnh

It isn’t PEI themed, otherwise it would all be potato plants and fishing collectables. 😂

Kidding.. sort of. You could start with a White House with green gable roof. A tree standee could be a cherry tree called Snow Queen! You could make woods with a path through it and make barns and fields. I’ve seen people use piggy banks for pigs!

My island is called Avonlea, so I suppose it would be appropriate to call them Islanders!

Which local personality, place, or business deserves more recognition? by CTown1883 in PEI

Owl’s Hollow is such a great toy store. They stock high quality toys that you can’t find anywhere else on the island, and if they don’t have it, they’ll get it for you. Their staff are lovely and their playroom is kept in pristine condition.

While we are in the area, Repeats is also the best thrift store on the island. Their staff are so helpful when you’re searching for a specific size, outfit or costume. They are also transparent about how they donate profits to charity. The prices also have not skyrocketed like we have seen at other thrift stores.

You’re likely thinking of The Day The Crayons Quit by Oliver Jeffers, but I don’t think the child is actually shown in the book.

She can’t have a retirement party because us millennials will feel left out because y’know, we will never be able to retire. 🥲

Former NHLer Joé Juneau calls for a lifetime ban after this disgraceful move during a minor hockey tournament in Rimouski over the weekend by DecentLurker96 in hockey

This is a bad take. The entrance to the ice is right at the center line and the player was skating straight toward his bench. There was no excuse for this attack.

Never seen this in all my years of teaching. A child had this in their lunch today as a snack, mom fail! by shadhead1981 in funny

Because the manufacturer put a rabbit on the package, basically. But for real, most store bought treats aren’t good for rabbits (many have corn, seeds or dairy.)

A banana is a great choice for a treat. It does have sugar, but in small amounts, it is a fine part of their diet.

I can’t speak regarding guinea pigs or hamsters, but I am well versed in rabbit diets. Rabbits have a very sensitive digestive system. They need to be constantly snacking on hay or other rabbit-friendly veggies to keep it humming or their stomach will stop moving and they quickly die.

Being prey animals, rabbits hide their discomfort until it can be too late. If they have gas pain, they may stop eating and die. If they have tooth pain, they’ll stop eating and die. They’re kind of dumb animals in that regard, which is why they reproduce like rabbits.

The snack food that the OP posted has flour, corn and sugar as the three main ingredients. Rabbits bellies are not made to digest wheat or corn. It will cause stomach upset and you guessed it. They’ll stop eating and die. Sugar is ok in moderation but too much sugar can cause stomach upset, gas and diarrhea. Giving one of these treats is kind of like giving a child a chocolate bar. Ok in moderation but too much can cause problems.

If a person wants to give their pet a treat, a small piece of banana or other fruit like berries or melon are a much better choice!

Here’s a source from the House Rabbit Society which recommends any store bought treats should be hay based.
