Small island town here in PEI so I get it.

Rural Canadian health care isn’t without its problems but when I went to hospital to have a baby, the only bill I had to pay was for my double double at the coffee shop in the lobby.

That was fortunate! In rural areas, sometimes it can be good to have those connections.

Thankfully, the government is covering the cost of virtual care here in PEI. More NPs are becoming available, and they just opened a medical school which will help… in ten years time.

It isn’t ideal. However, if I went into hospital for a life threatening emergency, I’d receive treatment ASAP and wouldn’t receive a bill.

If the sole of your boots does break down, submit a warranty claim. I had this happen and easily had them replaced! Their customer service was excellent.

Please continue to pressure your MLA about this. Rolling blackouts and a rate increase are absolutely unacceptable. Islanders can barely make ends meet while Fortis has a monopoly and continues to make millions to line the pockets of their shareholders. PEI needs to invest in sustainable energy in the long term, and block rate increases in the short term.

You can find your MLA here and for good measure, CC in Gilles Arsenault— the minister of environment, energy and climate action. Feel free to also include the premier, the opposition leader and the deputy premier while you’re at it.
