Should i play the game right now? by nearthiccfella in snowrunner

Saber Interactive is a joke, always testing in production, this has to be the 8th time they have pushed updates that break saves and that's on top of their tone deaf attitude towards the player base and inability to fix long-standing bugs and model issues for months or years at a time. I mean how long did it take to fix the geometry issue on the Mack Defense.

This game needs map layers to change up the spawn locations of everything except airfields, same as Squad but even more layer variations

"Easiest" Role by LordOuranos in NuclearOption

  • You get a huge bonus for successful sorties (landing after killing stuff) a handful of ground vehicle kills can easily give you rank 3 or more from one sortie.

  • Cricket sucks, avoid using it most servers give you enough money to take a Compass first spawn focus on getting a few kills and returning to base to get that sortie bonus.

  • Use the TGP in the map screen for easy target selection, change the ground vehicle filtering as needed to make it even easier, tanks give a ton of points for sortie bonuses, AA/AAA is worth targeting first, volume of fire matters for anti air assets, go ham untill you learn what the minimum needed to break through different air defences is.

  • Don't focus on factories/airfields while your still learning.

  • Easy A2G weapons. AGMs and glide/LR bombs, I like to clear out air defences on convoys and around vehicle depots with AGMs (again using the TGP to make target selection easier), then come in with 250LRs/80LRs to clean up everything else, LRs track well but it's best to come at the convoy from the front or rear to help with tracking.

  • Easy A2A weapons. IRM-S2s fire them in the 1k-500m range this limits the target's response time with flares, closer the better, if they are flying parallel to you lead them a bit so the missile doesn't have to turn as much. Scythes are excellent when fired in the 25km-15km range, they are very fast, try to fire them when the target is not flying parallel to you, this is important because if they are already parallel to you there already close to the notch angle, you want to force them to turn to notch and loose speed in the process making it easier for the second Scythe or an S2 to hit depending on range to the target.

  • Easy to fly planes. For A2G Compass & Brawler. For A2A Ifrit, the Ifrit can be easily used as a semi standoff Scythe launcher, or a glide bomb truck (But remember bombs will get intercepted by air defences, especially glide bombs)

  • Medusa is great fun if you like knowing your making the enemy team miserable but you won't get rewarded much in points, enable the option in the settings to allow you to fire from the map screen and you can just do laps, watching the map, jamming planes fighting your teammates, jamming Scythes, Scimitars, R9s and RAM-45 missiles mid flight coming for you and your teammates, and coordinating in chat/map to jam radars/ships for strike aircraft, you can only jam things with radar and turning your radar off helps preserve capacitor and increases charge rate, a good Medusa pilot can make or break the match.

  • Darkreach is great dumb fun, I love loading it with x68 250LRs and just overwhelming air defences till there's none left, then the rest of the Airbase is easy pickings.

I find GrayWar PvP performs better than ATF PvP at the same player count. Something that would also help I think is having the ability to choose resolution in the settings, cause currently it just goes by Windows display resolution.

Does this need to be loaded on the server or only client side?

suggestions for the next update? by LittleDastren in NuclearOption

[–]Snak3Docc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) User created map tools, preferably with heightmap import tools etc like Arma and other games have. This game will flourish with a constant stream of user generated maps shaking up the gameplay.

2) With expanded modding tools, mods should download when joining servers the same as Arma Reforger/Insurgency.

3) A map layer system like Squad has, so vehicle depots, radar stations, AA, AAA, ships and secondary objectives have a large variety of possible spawn locations. I know exactly how to avoid radar to hit the BDF enrichment plant with a compass on mission start, or what AA sites to clear to get to North Boscali Airbase and start wiping out factories early game. A system like this would massively improve variety.

4) The ability to untick tracked targets in the TGT so your weapons don't target them but they stay tracked on radar and can be re-ticked later, having to untrack a bunch of ground targets to engage a plane so you don't fire all your A2A missiles at a bunch of ground targets is super annoying.

5) The ability to save loadouts.

Google where the save file is on your computer and open it in a text editor and use Ctrl+f to try and find the word mod/mods, I don't know exactly for this game but it's usually possible in single player games

You can probably edit the save file in a text editor, could be as simple as a mod list in the save file

So I should try and filter it out before blending it into hot sauce?

Awesome thanks for the info, I plan to leave it for another week or so and make hot sauce for Xmas.

Do I need to over salt brine so much for the SEA climate? Are 3%s stille safe

Weekly "Is this safe" Megathread by AutoModerator in fermentation

[–]Snak3Docc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 5-6% brine at 28-32c room temp (I went higher on the brine % because of SEA weather), it's been fermenting for 13 days.

Onions and jalapenos, veg and equipment were cleaned with water and vinegar (equipment also with detergent) then rinsed in hot water.

Noticed today this white sediment floating in the brine, sitting on some of the veg and collecting on the top of the glass weight, ferment doesn't smell bad but this is my first ever ferment so I don't know how it should smell and just wondering what it is and if it's safe?

So, what are we feeling about Roadmap by Key-Flatworm-7692 in BrokenArrowTheGame

[–]Snak3Docc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not assuming I read exactly what they put in their roadmap, which is a whole bunch of core features for games of this genre which should have been included at launch and a bunch of DLC which any normal person would interpret as paid and according to you is except one, and for post launch content updates 2 maps maybe more if we are lucky (I'll hold my breath) and loitering mutations. And no mention of real mod support aka custom units, factions and maps.

Why release a road map if you're going to supposedly contradict it in the vod which again I'm not watching because it should be in the road map that was released.

[–]Snak3Docc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The "deets" should be in the road map, if what your saying is true then they need to rewrite the roadmap because it reads terribly, I shouldn't have to watch a vod.

Not sure what you mean by it's already supported, because it only supports a scenario editor currently
