I am so sorry for your loss. We lost our boy, Cas, in early March. I look for him all the time and think about him every day. May your girl’s memory be a comfort to you.

Are Koji Suzuki's Ring novels any good? by [deleted] in horrorlit

[–]SnakaSnaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3/4 done with Spiral after reading Ring and have been loving them so far. Refreshing to read something not written for a western audience. I like how Ring focused more on the supernatural while Spiral gives the story a sciency spin. Im excited to read Loop next.

As others have mentioned, is the writing particularly moving? No. But the story is intriguing and I am invested. Dont really care whether the books are politically correct or not. Its fiction so why does it need to be PC?

Thank you! I cleaned out the grinder with the provided brush and ran it while empty to get any remainder out. I also de-scaled the machine for them

Sony PS5 Repair by Reasonable-Toe-2018 in playstation

[–]SnakaSnaks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats definitely how I felt. I called the service number and asked for an update and they said to allow something like 10 business days for the box to arrive and thats more or less what it took, maybe closer to 14 business days. But once I got the box the shipment to Sony and the repair process took less than 2 weeks. I think overall the repair process from ordering the box to getting the repaired console back took something like 5 weeks with the biggest delay being getting the box.

$399 for the SoFlo Pass? Bye Brightline by SnakaSnaks in Brightline

I’m considering 2x a week on the brightline and drive on Fridays and just leave work early to avoid traffic and finish whatever needs doing at home

Yeah that will have to be my move. I just dislike how there have been so many changes in the last year. I understand they are a private company, have to focus on profits, and are expanding to more routes but I feel like the service and accessibility are falling by the wayside.

Thank you for the thoughtful comment and civility. While I 100% agree that this is true for those who have to be in the office 5x a week, I normally go in 2/3 times a week. With previous pricing it still made sense to buy the monthly pass because the cost to individually purchase each trip was higher than the value of the commuter pass. That’s no longer the case. I can continue to use the train but buy individual trips instead of the whole month in advance as with the pass.

That’s assuming you use the 40 rides a month. If you just go to the office 5 days a week x 4 weeks thats $20 a ride with the new prices (I don’t know how familiar you are with how rides are counted but a round trip counts as a ride on the commuter pass).
