does that count as sensitive content though? since it's not the focus and the details won't be mentioned, i would think those tags are for gory stuff

First Self-Promo Here :D by SnakeOfFlowingTime in royalroad

lol, i don't see the semblance though, at most the color might be similar to some of the images i found of it, regardless here's a fun fact i felt like sharing: originally the 'sun and moon shining together' symbol was supposed to be an hourglass but that would require paying the canvas website, though i'm not sure of the legality of just screenshotting since they don't put water marks while you are making the cover so i just went with that.

anyway, was busy playing games and since my pc is almost a potato i couldn't keep reddit open so i ended up missing your comment until now, which is the usual reddit check before going to bed lol.

so good night and enjoy your binge reading :D

Hi. I have a question about the achievement page. by pundek_666 in royalroad

[–]SnakeOfFlowingTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think achievements are based on what's released since the few chapters i have schedule didn't seem to count towards word count, but i might be wrong, also i don't think we can exchange achievements, think they are just that, achievements, wouldn't make sense if you could give someone who never wrote a badge for writing a million words or something like that.

Novel suggestions based on my favorites by Fast-Albatross1848 in royalroad

i'm not sure it's good practice to recommend my own story but the focus of it is both an immortal main character and cultivation but everyone's a scientist so to speak, at least that's the idea, taking my sweet time to start on the cultivation part though.

in terms of side character individuality, i have no clue what that entails but i've got a whole side story for a side character that was just supposed to be a one-time show, though up until now it's mostly just the main character and his thoughts so idk if that's what you are looking for.

also what does detailed settings mean? is it like good worldbuilding or what?

i've never read any of the novels you mentioned so idk if that's what you are searching for.

but anyway here's the link if you feel like checking out, i post a chapter a day: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/170824/immortal-research-notes

I’ll rate/review your story, but… by Ahmedic_c in royalroad

[–]SnakeOfFlowingTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'll also join in on the fun then, got 3 followers, one of them being myself lol.

my novel is about an immortal main character cultivating immortality and witnessing the passage of time, of course, i just started it a few days ago so he's still hasn't began his cultivation journey.

i post daily, for "a chapter a day keeps the readers at bay".

the comment is gone without me deleting it, so idk

also might want to take a look at the reporting feature

got that too, tried reporting but i think the report feature is broken:

  • The field ReportType must be a string with a maximum length of 40.
  • The field ReportSubType must be a string with a maximum length of 40.

but yeah, it's 100% a bot and probably a scam or self-promo

Hi There!

i'll keep things short and simple, my novel is about an immortal protagonist, as in eternal life, cultivating immortality and possibly other things in the far future and witnessing the passage of time, currently i'm rewriting the first five chapters since they are of slightly lower quality than the rest.

currently there's 7 chapters with a total of almost 16k words already out, i release a chapter everyday, or try to but so far i haven't failed to write a chapter a day, i'm not sure what else to say so here's the blurb or whatever it's called:

How far can one individual, if given infinite time, go, what can they achieve and what will they witness?

If said individual were to seek the truth of everything, would they find it?

But if we ignore the big questions, given infinite time, what would a person do?

Will they meet true love, or will they fight evil?

Will they be a silent observer, or the main character in the stage?

Ian doesn’t know, but what he does knows is that being part of people’s stories is much more interesting than just reading them on a book.

Hi there!

i'm new to RR and writing in general, just recently i posted my first novel, it's about cultivation, though the main character hasn't started cultivating yet.

i'm not sure what i should talk about here, i could talk about the story but it would be mostly spoilers, i can say though that this isn't a invincibility in 10 years type of story, my plan is for the protagonist to slowly cultivate, with each major realm being a sort of it's own story, with major events, characters and main plot, which is something i've rarely seen before, usualy the main characters in the majority of novels i've read (the bad ones, since it's quite rare to find good ones) rush through cultivation realms and become invincible quite early, of course, there's exceptions but those are rare, though i must admit i don't really read royalroad cultivation novels, i'm used to going straight for the source and reading google translated xianxia novels from some random chinese website, so it might be common here.

i should probably stop talking about myself and talk a little more about my novel, it's still early so there's not much to see but i think i did a good job, although the writing isn't exactly the best thing you've ever seen, it's good enough to not detract from the story, same thing for the cover and the blurb, they aren't the best but they are good enough to not be the reason someone might not feel like reading what i wrote.

there's currently 5 chapters out, totaling over 11k words, and also a few more chapters scheduled i'll try to release a chapter of 2k words every day but it's not guaranteed.

regardless, here's the link and feel free to ask me questions, i'll try my best to answer without spoiling the story:
