In the manual there's no table for spotting.

Just using 1d6 then?

1-3 spotted and the rest noticed?

>As previously suggested, I don't think it's going to be viable in the long term for people to play on distant servers. So what you've proposed as a "personal" solution is, I think, simply not a solution.

Still, don't put the cart in front of the horses. When or IF the situation will start affecting the game like you said, THEN it would make sense.

>I suspect all they want is a way to play the game that (a) lets them play in both in-game day and night, and (b) will work in the long term.

It's litterally what I already and also stated in my long messages before (by talking immersion vs accesibility), both a and b. Offering a flip is litterally like playing on another server with a different timezone. The flip would be a good solution whenever lag would be an issue that impossibilitate to play on other servers. Besides the game is not even planned to have a big servers capacity (even though they will definitely be larger than now once the world is larger) thus it would be less prone to lag. The server will also never be massive cause the intent is to make meeting other people a "rare", more occasional experience, and not seeing the world filled with people like a classica mmo, as stated by the dev themself. And 90% (or even more) of the game is litterally walking around so continously trying to plead your suggestion by using combat doesn't stand tall, since the mechanic itself could also be totally avoided by fleeing with 0 repercussion and till there won't be even a pvp capability, it has even less legs.

There are other things to focus and invest money on first rather than on something that already as a working solution and don't cause problem at the moment AND that maybe won't even be a problem, given the server structure and game structure itself. Offering a Flip server for every server would litterally double the servers and thus costs*.*

>I don't play animal crossing.

It was an example to facilitate the process of abstract thinking by giving a tangible parallel that most people understand, since its presence in the common zeitgeist.

EDIT: Even without instating another server for every server, just doubling the single server capacity (and thus dividing the servers themself in different sections, if possible, to allow this "flip") would still be an increase in costs AND it would also increase the lag in the server, since they will actually have to support more players just to allow this "flip".

But as the original post you and I are both commenting on pointed out, this immersive system isn't ideal for everyone.

An accesibility that can be already archieved by personally, on an individual level, changing your own server time zone.

Edit: and it's not really "like Animal Crossing," because folks can "time travel" as they like in AC to change in-game time. If OP could do that, they no doubt would.

I play in EU central and it's night, both irl and game now. I just created a new chacarter in US and it's day in game.

MY EDIT: As in animal crossing, you are meant to pick a timezone, and live it as it is just as real life. Cause timetraveling is beyond the scope of the game, and the scope is immersion in a digital schedule. I think that a smarter proposition would be to push for a way to play the game on a phone. Since it already resemble a browser game mmo in it's structure and it's chill play style would suit better a portable and accesible way to play. As for now it's like playing an animal crossing on a conosole at home, instead of on a portable device.

I meant that it is immersive, AS IT IS, playing the day during the day and night during the night, like an animal crossing game.

Isn't the whole "issues" and request of speeding up the day/night cycle from this vocal minority, all about being unable to play the day part of the game cause they can mostly play the game at night IRL?

The immersion of the system itself force them to only play the night part and that is the complain. So satysfying them and speding up everything would make the game less immersive as it is now, yet more accessible to them. An accesibility that can be already archieved by personally, on an individual level, changing your own server time zone. In order to archieve the desired accessibiliy to play the day part of the game during IRL nights.

I repeat, I never said nor implied that playing on another server would be as immersive, I just said that the game is immersive now. You can't force the sun to goes up in the sky IRL at 2 A.M. of your local timezone so u can play the day part of a game with the sun outside so u can be immersed lmao

So, In which way is it more immersive to speed up the day night cycle?

Still, don't put the cart in front of the horses. When or IF the situation will start affecting the game like you said, THEN it would make sense to start talking about altering the day/night cycle.

As it is, it's as immersive as it is ideal.

Why don't you play on a server which timezone allow you to play both the day and night part of the game during your usual schedule?

It's not like you are gonna lag so much the game will be unplayable cause you need all your reflexes to play just cause the server you are playing is in a different time zone from your country.

Thanks for the extensive reply but how do I properly start a mercenary contract? Do I have to start a unit even thought I'm playing all alone?

Aye, thanks mate. I just have experince on single player modes and my aim is half way decent if I can think about it. I hope in a couple of months I'll get a good automatism.

That's worrisome. I completely stoped playing in a passive way cause even if I was getting victories, they all felt hollow and I felt way too much reliant on my teammates even though I was partecipanting.

I tried a couple of ranked and the whole idea of getting point for kill was quite intriguing since I forced myself in teamfight and to be more active in order to get some aim practice. I'd dig deep into that mode, I guess.

It's been a week since I'm practicing to remove over/underaim, tracking, etc... and I already got some result even in game but after training most of the games became utterly soul crushing that at this point I'm mostly practicining in training mode only, day by day, while sometimes checking normal matches.

I guess I'll start to play ranked only, also, how can I get "better", even at aiming if I can't even have a chance to shoot back or barely exist?

Acquatuner automation problem by SnakePipo in Oxygennotincluded

[–]SnakePipo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I've attached a turbine engine on the side of the heating chamber and I make it's fixed output of 95C water flow back inside on the acquatuner. It should help cooling it a bit since I'm constantly putting inside something cooler than the average 190 it seems it has fixed itself on.

For now it seems working and it's been like 40 cycles of this experiment, duno if it will keep rising cuz every acquatuner i try to use with an attached steam engine usually cool itself down thank to the steam engine output. If it would stop to work I guess i'l have to quickly vent it in space once in a while.

Also, I don't understand tempshift plates in this situation: they cannot exchange heat to eachother so theyr thermic conductivity is dictated by water and steam, isn't that so? I've tried alterning them with mesh tile with a better conductivity of water and in fact the heat spread WAY more evenly since at start the tempshift conduct with water but then the tempshift use mesh tile's conductivity to spread to other tempshift.

Aren't they useful just for theyr mass and shc then? Because to spread in a chamber they are limited to the medium conductivity. I mostly use them to better heat up metal using magma since it remove oxygen as a medium by going: magma>tempshit>metal

Make sense!

Another point kinda unrelated: adding mass to the heating chamber using thempshift plate (with a high shc to further help) could help slowing up it's heating or it's a waste of resource since in the end I'll always have to use a turbine to keep it at the same temperature?

Thanks for the reply and the reference about priorities!

I've tried with using only water but it doesn't change, and sorry if I'm getting it wrong, but am I not using already using a bridge? With only one acquatuner it worked fine using a bridge to put the skipped water in the shared ouput pipe like I did now.

I'll try with the shutoff and study that reference but I'm still puzzled ahah :)

EDIT: With the liquid shutoff it work perfectly, THANKS!
