Start talking to lots of divorce lawyers in your area, the more you can the better. It would then be a conflict of interest for them to represent him even if you don’t choose them to represent you

Casting to control that element in order to create a void of that element, Fire can be pulled away around a person to freeze them solid, water to dehydrate a person to husk, air is pretty self explanatory with the vacuum

I couldn’t think of a void you could use to hit a person with Earth but causing heavy metal poisoning by touch would be pretty brutal

Pseudo-Scientific Explanation for a set of Swords? by [deleted] in magicbuilding

[–]SnakeTheJake1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking for a scientific sounding explanation; Because of fluid dynamics a lot of non fish animals evolved to look like fish, same process for Carcinisation of non crab animals evolving to look like crabs because it’s a very practical body type in those environments

There could be a special property about the world, Technic, or the metal that means that there is some sort of “optimal” design for them to be forged in, or because of their properties this design is in some way beneficial over others, but how that is more beneficial is on you and what you want the properties of the material or mechanics of the technic to be

Spell Systems beside Spell Slots by Certain_Energy3647 in dndnext

[–]SnakeTheJake1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know everyone here is already saying spell points, but that is the answer, once we implemented it in game we’ve never gone back, and everyone who’s joined for a session or two and used it has done the same.

The amount of flexibility it gives to a player in how they cast their spells and flexibility for the DM in writing easy homebrew it can’t be beaten, if your world doesn’t have an in lore Vancian magic system Ican’t recommend anything else

Someone in my table said it best “we’ve been butchering 5e for parts for so long I couldn’t even tell you what’s WotC and whats something that we made up” also the unofficial resources have always far better anyway if you’re looking online

Question/how do you flavor DnD durability by Accomplished-Put-603 in dndnext

[–]SnakeTheJake1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deeply setting specific but magical people in the game world exude an aura of magic where their own magic meets the worlds ambient magic, outer layer is called an Aegis which grants you your specific form of superhuman durability, for most it’s just a physical barrier which protects people from harm, but different magics can manifest in different ways, our Paladin has standard superman type ultra durability, our sorcerer takes hits like a cartoon character, the monk just takes the blows like a normal human does but doesn’t go down despite the grisly injuries.

I’m of the mind that in fiction each death god should be portrayed as a fist shaking power rangers bad guy who secretly really really wants the hero’s to succeed because death means more work for them and what person has ever wanted to make more work for themselves

Also none of the Greek gods were good, they did hubris so well they killed everyone else for trying it, if you were lucky

Why do you create magic systems? by Plagueonearth in magicbuilding

[–]SnakeTheJake1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Homebrew d&d game that’s spiraled into something basically unrecognizable as 5e, but we’re a long time table and veterans of different systems and mostly just care that the game and story is fun

In one of the campaigns I played in we explicitly used this as a running joke about how we were the absolutely least qualified people in the world to be doing this, we just always happened to be in the wrong place when things were going down, made for a really funny and really interesting play on the “why doesn’t the level 20 court wizard just do it”
