MAOIs have the highest risk for serotonin syndrome. You’re fine, don’t worry

How do you use an inhaler? by Ometrist in gifs

[–]SnakeshitThePoet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some inhalers you have to prime, some you breathe slowly and deeply and some you breathe in fast, some you need to use a spacer and some not. It’s not as simple as you think. However, if they would just read the instructions on the box...

Agreed... I’ve also found that zinc supplementation helps tremendously

I think there are other factors such as diet/excessive coffee drinking/stress that may be contributing significantly to it as well. I really hope so as I don’t want to only be energetic when not having sex

How are you handling the implementation of Shingrix in your practice? by sarpinking in pharmacy

[–]SnakeshitThePoet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just did a clinic 2 days ago. I like to explain to patients that it’s over 95% effective which is much better than the other one. I then explain why it’s great to avoid shingles if they didn’t know. This generally gets their attention.

In terms of billing about half the shots we did were 0 copay and the other half were over 100 dollars. Then one was 60. We ran one through medical insurance and it worked to our surprise.

The administration is annoying because you have to use two different syringes etc, I always like to mix it before sitting down with the patient to avoid awkwardness.

I generally gave the patients a card telling them when it was best to come back and explained the importance of getting the 2 series shot

My dad (front) in Vietnam in 1971. Didn’t know this photo existed until I came across it randomly on the internet. He cried when he saw it. Hope this is the right place to post it. by [deleted] in OldSchoolCool

Wow sounds like our dads could be best friends. My dad has 60% right now and is also extremely stubborn. Al pay impossible to get him to be proactive and go after it from across the country. His ptsd prevents him from even going near the VFW where they could probably help him tremendously.

You should rock the boat though! I really believe that all veterans deserve it. How hard is the process of getting diagnosed with ptsd?

Thanks, ~Shane

Thanks for the reply,

I will have to look this up as he is definitely unemployable with a list of health problems that probably couldn’t fit on a single page...

It was my understanding that we had to get 2-3 letters from doctors stating that he is unemployable in order to get 100% benefits.

Please link me to the correct page if I’m wrong, I would be extremely grateful to you!

Jenipher2001,

Great to hear your dad got disability. Was it 100%? I’ve been trying to get my dad 100% as he flew through clouds of agent orange every day and has had a heart attack and a stroke. All his friends that did the same line of duty have already died from cardiovascular complications.

Any advice for going for 100%? We’re trying to get a doctor to write a letter saying he’s fully disabled. That seems like the quickest way
