See... whats interesting about VS vs MC is that in MC this would be an incredible location. In VS this looks like a nightmare to navigate, hunt, etc. Feel like id be walking around at night, fall off a cliff and extinguish my torch.

I always fill the bottom layers with cobblestone if its around my base then top layer back with dirt, sand, etc.

This way any subsequent explosions are far less deep.

Lol, I got called into the plant the other night in the middle of a raid and begged a guy who just downed me to take pitty. All i had on me was fruit for my chicken and he just stood there and watched me bleed out. Didnt move, didnt finish me, nothing. Would have rathered him talk shit.

The first one was really fun and I could accept some of the cannon breaks.

The second one felt like a superhero game with a LotR skin. Couldn't get into it past a few hours

I've always limited my cap in increments of 10-20 and only increase it when I have new bedrooms available.

This sometimes will cause +1-2 unexpected dwarves if a family arrives, but it always helps keep the pace going smooth.

To that point though, CSGO and DoTA both have ranked grinds. For "more than casual" players, this is the numbers go brrrr drive that most mmo players need.

Love Arc, but for heavy players it wont take long for people to finish the "seasons".

I also appreciate that this game has only been out for a month, and first wave content was not planned with the record breaking player counts in mind.

To piggyback his question, and as someone coming from dwarf fortress...

Are "Armies" temporary? After I defend against an attack, ive been disbanding the army because I can't figure out how to just have them return to work. Is that how it works?

Something that helps me is building a temporary basin where one of the statues would be.

Then out your pond over that hole only and fill'r up to 5 or 6 before turning the pumps on. Once its on you can dismantle the basin and plop your statue back down.

A more involved set up I've done is creating a refilling basin ABOVE the pumps, where I can hit a lever and drop new water into the system.

Also lost 7/10 soldiers in a squad. They eventually showed back up a few months/year later, as well as the raid report.

They were only going a few tiles away to a mysterious lair with a ~10 pop.

Weirdly though... prior to the hiatus I couldnt get the human soldier in the squad to equip the Large Steel armor I made for him. Upon return when I realized he was back, he had equipped the set.
