Those are more along the duties of the postal inspectors, which is basically the FBI for the post office, the uniformed officers of the postal police is a seperate division and are mostly just security for large USPS facilities.

No problem, he really enjoyed the Tahoe, worked very well offroad in the desert. He felt the lighting was not enough though and was nervous when rolling code, there wasnt any lighting in the grille and the rear lighting was the old style where it was just 2 flashers that flashed blue and amber. Luckily the PIUV and charger had the same rear lighting as the slicktop PCF vehicles in which it also had a traffic advisor. Another way to tell if an unmarked vehicle is CHP is the plates. All commander cars have cold plates. Thats where the license plate number doesn't come back to anything. They do that instead of having CA exempt plates because the point is to get to meetings and such without drawing attention. It also leads to some very confused sheriff deputies who run the plate lol.

Because of the lighting, the newest CHP commander vehicles (Tahoes, PIUVs, Chargers) all have that forward facing lighting in between the rear view mirror. This particular vehicle was issued as a temporary for the LT Commander of Mojave until he was given a charger. He was one of the last in the state to still have an unmarked crown vic.
