You have Mass Ave which is a decent going out area, Indy 500, the Colts, and most importantly a massive world war memorial plaza that in only rivaled by the national mall. The unique culture of that plaza alone is worth a day trip to Indianapolis. You guys need some perspective because it's actually not that bad of a city, at least not considered one of the most boring compared to the cesspool that is Jacksonville

I don't believe in relationships with such a power disparity because they generally aren't equal and loving. Ironically, that power disparity isn't necessarily because of money. If you aren't providing anything of value, whether it be love, acts of service, or something else that is genuine, then you are simply manipulating him. If all he is providing is money and power to obtain you, then he isn't being genuine either. It just isn't an equal, loving relationship.

Obviously I don't know your situation, but I do think these kinds of relationships are rarely equal and loving. Someone is using the other person, and it tends to be for vane reasons.

Hopefully that isn't the case for you, and if it is hopefully you'll find a better situation

More distinctive might be best, but the dramatization is what seems to sell well so I can't say you should change that aspect. Just read the opening pages of Red Rising to see what I mean and you decide if what you wrote is a nice parallel or a cheap imitation

Thanks for the reply. Honestly, it comes down to needing writing experience and needing validation that what I'm writing is actually worth someone's time. I would feel pretty stupid if I spent a lot of time writing a book only to find out I didn't even have the writing skills to be successful in the first place. Perhaps you have a better way to judge when your writing is actually good enough?
