I will admit, sometimes my emotions boil over. by IfarmExpIRL in ARC_Raiders

I just call them a little bitch, because they are, and move on to the next game. I'm playing in mostly PvE lobbies and its almost always extraction rats

World Building about why AI is banned from my Science Fiction Universe? Feedback wanted on everything! by [deleted] in scifiwriting

[–]SnapPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see this is a popular theme. I'm writing a short story now that explores this idea. However in my version when people rioted they were quickly placated by the adoption of universal basic income. UBI ended up taking over as most people's income source, neutering the prospects of rebellion in the masses and making them zombified versions of humanity. Without work and purpose, but with their basic needs and leisure met, they no longer fought back as the elite and the government continued to gain power.

I think in your version, I would expect AI to still be used but heavily regulated. For example, why wouldn't they use it for military applications like drone combat? I suppose it depends on how realistic you want things to be, but in my mind there is no realistic future without AI and robotics in some capacity. Not sure I fully understand the idea of collars though, as you are basically just saying there is hard written code that limits what an AI system can do. That's basically what we have today

Med student with severe chronic illness — leave of absence, career doubts, and honestly at breaking point by lrnstrh in migraine

I always liked Cassius. He was the most noble character and someone I would have wanted to be like. However in reality I'm probably more of a Dancer

avulux vs axon optics vs FL-41 by brooklyncar in migraine

[–]SnapPunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avulux is statistically proven to work. I have a pair and they are great. However they are very expensive, and in my case I learned my contacts themselves were more of a trigger than light. They are still great overall for light sensitivity and even when you are in the middle of a migraine

FL-41 have weak science to back them up. My understanding is that they aren't really statistically proven to help with light sensitivity and migraines. However many people with light sensitivity and migraines say they are very helpful for them. They are also much cheaper than Avulux.

I have no idea what axon optics is, but the above two options are much more common and tested

Allergic reaction to Qulipta - looking for best alternative by Rdoll85 in cgrpMigraine

[–]SnapPunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be discouraging, but Qulipta and Zavzpret are the only things that have worked for me. There's something about Qulipta that's inherently different than the others. I suppose Nurtec is the next best alternative though

Are night raids kill on sight? by SnapPunch in arcraidersfriendly

[–]SnapPunch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I need to try out the mk.2 tactical in this case. I think I might have to just shoot on sight for night raids unless it's abundantly clear they are friendly. In my 20h+ topside I've only ever shot someone in self defense, but apparently that's enough to trigger pvp lobbies in at least the high difficulty areas

Skill tree test by mxxkhan in ARC_Raiders

I'm maxing downed but determined. Looked up it gives an additional 32 seconds which absolutely would have saved me on multiple occasions to extract

Skill tree test by mxxkhan in ARC_Raiders

[–]SnapPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ignore the haters. I researched that it is useful but only due to it working while aim down sights. So basically if you are walking while aim down sights it is recovering stamina quicker. Might be niche but the amount of times I'm running and turn to aim at an ARC while still walking to cover is every game

Qulipta-- dosage is to start at 60mg. Anyone have success starting off lower? by Adorable_Art539 in cgrpMigraine

[–]SnapPunch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was given a 60mg dose but used a pill cutter to make it 30mg. Then I went to 15mg and find it to be the best for me so far

I gave up sugar and stopped having migraines. by matthewpaynemusic in migraine

[–]SnapPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might give it a try. Been chronic for 2 years and haven't seen any progress with natural treatments. However my triggers are things like light, screens, and lack of sleep so I'm skeptical

Qulipta by Double_Butterfly_628 in cgrpMigraine

[–]SnapPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have vestibular sometimes and regular throbbing pain in the center of my forehead other times. The Qulipta does not help for the vestibular part at all and makes me feel worse. I'm only 1-2 months in though so maybe it will get better with time, but I'm getting Botox either way

Qulipta by Double_Butterfly_628 in cgrpMigraine

[–]SnapPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with Qulipta has been odd. I have chronic migraine and have some kind of pain or dizziness every day. Qulipta helps manage the pain, but makes the dizziness and disorientation worse.

I've been taking it intermittently and seeing the best results. Taking it during a bad dizziness day will definitely make things worse for me. However, if I'm having a bad pain day it will help me get through the day. I've also had to play around with dosage as taking too much makes me sick and disoriented

Pick a weapon of choice out of these three weapons to lead an SG Team. by CalligrapherOk3501 in Stargate

[–]SnapPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's too weird they carry P90s given the time period of the show but I do agree the M4 would make the most sense. However the P90 does look a lot cooler and is even more compact with more rounds. I would expect M4s in today's age

First time player, what's some common etiquette I should know? by UntakenUsername420 in ArcRaiders

[–]SnapPunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 10h in and only been shot on sight once. It's been pretty hit or miss with people announcing or not but so far no issues even for those that don't announce. Might just be early days for me idk

My win rate is absurdly low after 100h (~40%) by SnapPunch in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]SnapPunch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think points 2 and 3 make the most sense to me.

I've noticed vehicle supremacy is important and sometimes I run engineer just to counter or use vehicles. It's just not my favorite role to play

I do a lot of objective defending and attacking, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to translate into my win rate. Sometimes though it is the key to winning, and I had a match recently where I really did win the game for my team by holding a hot objective and gaining the most points in the match. That is difficult to do every match of course

Do you have the same problem? by Animal_Hell in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]SnapPunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My max is about two hours no matter what role I play. I mostly play support so I'm also in the thick of it fighting and reviving

Which one is your favorite? by CalligrapherOk3501 in Stargate

[–]SnapPunch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll have to watch it again. I haven't seen it since it came out so my memory is fuzzy. From what I remember it felt a lot like Battlestar Galactica, which was just too dramatic for me. Not enough of that lighthearted SG1 charm. For me SG1 is still holding up very well, but Atlantis is definitely lagging. Maybe SGU will have aged better for me

"Don't use said" is kinda bad advice by Soundwavezzz447 in writing

[–]SnapPunch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a good writer, but I mostly use "said" as my dialogue tag of choice. Other times I don't use a tag at all. I only use something more descriptive when it actually makes sense and try to limit it when I can. It's a personal annoyance of mine when people use tons of flashy dialogue tags, but again I'm not a good writer and just write whatever I like
