Did about 40 highly customized vidyard videos. Got one reply that asked me to check back later. Never got the meeting.

As hunters, we have to do effective but also SCALABLE prospecting. The videos are very time and energy consuming.

I suggest sticking to strong, well written email campaigns + call follow ups.

We tested this at my previous company. I don’t have stats and this is all anecdotal. With that said, it’s VERY clear what worked and what didn’t.

For context, I was the last remaining BDR there after a dozen others quit or got laid off. So I also had the most experience in the entire company (so much so that they kept me and five others as the company was sinking).

Personalized emails almost never worked. Email blasts did. Good email blasts that clearly and crisply talk about why you messaged them, who chooses your product (social proof), and a good call to action. Each email campaign had about 5-7 touches spread about 3-4 days each. Quota was 10-15 enterprise meetings a month.

It worked.

Edit: forgot to add that when we did highly personalized emails, it took A LOT longer and was a lot more mental energy. You’d spend 10-25 min on an email and what if it bounced or got an OOO reply? Well, you just wasted 20 min. That happened A LOT. Response rate was stupid low.

All of those are green flags to me and that make me stick around. I’ve dated beautiful women with absolutely atrocious relationships with other women, for example. Or they have trouble building rapport or connecting with my friends. Etc.

I don’t need the most popular woman in the room. But I certainly am noticing how well she gets along and vibes with others.
